Jungkook, feet clad in the fluffiest socks he could find in his ever-growing sock drawer (damn all those christmas presents) and his most intact pair of shoes, is trying his very best to not sink to his knees and ball his eyes out. Just the regular things-completely normal.
He's in public-he can have a breakdown when he gets home.
Opting for some fresh air before he signed himself away to his fate of some essay exam prep, he was sat upon a park bench with his knees to his chest.
To be honest the cold park air was doing nothing to aid the current state of dread he was in. His tapped his fingers on the bone of his knee, restless mind evident in his restless movement.
A soft disgruntled sigh escapes from his bitten lips, the frost-nipped air freezing his through the thin material of his cheap cardigan. He can either sit here and freeze to death or go home and sob out of stress and overdose on the painkillers in his medicine cupboard. Y'know, both undesirable consequences.
Jungkook tilts his head back in frustration, nose scrunching.
He feels someone sit down next to him, now who the fuck could that be-
"Mr Kim-" he blinks in surprise. Kim Seokjin stares at him with those gorgeous, dark eyes of his.
"No need for that. Hyung is fine."
Jungkook nods, trying not to blush because damn Seokjin truly is staring at him with intent, "Didn't expect to see you here."
"Same here," Seokjin replies, "You alone?"
"Yes, I'm about to go home soon though..."
Seokjin's eyebrows furrow slightly, "You don't sound too thrilled about that."
Well duh. Jungkook is the farthest thing from thrilled. Not to be dramatic (and by that he's about to be totally dramatic) but just the thought of working on anything remotely academic makes him want to throw himself into a bathtub and drop in a toaster as a bath bomb.
"I've got work to do so yeah...not thrilled one bit."
Seokjin hums soothingly, hand slipping across the bench to gently pat Jungkook's shoulder. He thumbs the bone that pokes out far too much for his liking, aiming to send the younger some form of comfort.
"I know we met like...yesterday but I'm free if you want some company?"
Slightly startled, Jungkook tilts his head trying to will away a huge smile that's threatening to form on his face - he doesn't want to seem too eager.
"Really?"
Nodding, Seokjin pulls out his phone, "I'll just text my uhm...friends that I'll be out tonight."
"You don't need to come if you're busy-"
"I want to," Seokjin interjects.
Damn. Jungkook really lucked out, this tall dark and handsome stranger wants to spend time with him. He should totally buy a lottery ticket or something.
By the time he's miraculously willed away another few thousand flourishing blushes on is cheeks, he's inviting Seokjin into his home once more.
