The first thing Alex remembered of his life was crawling around in a cave of some sort. On his left side, there was a closed window. On the windowsill, there was some baby food. On his right, there was a mini classroom, but he couldn't understand what it was. All he knew was that he was hungry, and that the solution to that problem was on the left side of the cave.
He didn't know how he knew how to crawl, he just knew he knew. He crawled over to the windowsill and ate some food. Alex didn't know how, but he also knew some of the basic human skills: walking, talking, reading, writing, and fighting. He was curious about where he was and who he was. What time was it, anyways? Alex tried to peek through the cracks of the closed window, but the curtains on the other side were drawn, and he couldn't see anything. He figured someone was on the other side of the window, supplying him with unlimited food.
Alex got up and walked over to the mini classroom. There were a few pencils and pens, and a large stack of papers. A drawing book and a writing book were placed in front of it. There was also an enormous bookshelf, which Alex became very interested in. He picked up a random book off the shelf, and read the cover. "The life of Alexander Hamilton." He whispered to himself. Alexander, he thought. That was a nice name. What if he named himself that? That would be cool.
And so, Alex lived peacefully in his little cave for 10 whole years, with unlimited food and water, a blanket, pillow, and mattress, unlimited clothes exactly his size, and plenty of things to learn in the mini classroom. He never thought of going outside the cave and exploring. He never thought there were humans just like him outside. Until one fateful day...
