Ace's Perspective

She just fell. I grabbed her arm with no hesitation and held her tight to my chest. My life, my world, my best friend, the only thing I am living for just passed out.

I raced to the boat dock. I frantically searched for our boat with no luck. The captain must have taken a joyride around the island. Why in the world did they have to do that today? I must get Dahlia home! I can't think of anything else. She could have the same illness my cousin died from a couple of years ago. Why didn't I pick up on the signs? How can I be so stupid? I should have taken her home as soon as she started showing symptoms.

Why did my whole life have to stop working properly? How am I going to get her home so she can rest?

My mind raced through all of the public transportations. A fairy is leaving the harbor in a minute. The fairy should have a working med room onboard or at least a doctor. I made it to the fairy right as the men working were untying the knots to leave. "Wait!" I screamed running as fast as I could while holding my life.

"What do you want?" A worker stationed by the dock questioned with menacing eyes that would have scared any other man that wasn't trained by their father, the best royal guard.

"I have princess Dahlia; she has passed out. We need to get her to the castle immediately. If you wouldn't mind."

"You didn't come on the fairy. If you were with the royal family, which I'm guessing you're not, you would most likely have a boat. So why are you asking for a ride on the fairy?"

"The captain of the royal yacht took a joyride around the island. Do you need to see Princess Dahlia's credentials? I have her passport with me," I said as I balanced Dahlia on my knee, fishing out her passport from the bag with all of our stuff in it. "I have it here somewhere," I said as I was digging deeper and deeper. I found her passport at the very bottom and pulled it out. I flipped to the photo page and showed the worker. Her father even had it stamped and signed with his personal stamp. No one knew what the stamp looked like before he used it, and no commoner would ever know until they saw it. Almost like they had sworn to forget it until they saw it again.

The worker examined the passport for a brief moment, "Oh I'm so sorry. Of course, this is the princess. I just didn't recognize her without a fancy gown and her tiara."

"May we board? Or are you going to have us stay here and she never regains consciousness?" I questioned as the boat started pulling away from the doc slowly.

"Of course. Hand Dahlia to me, I'll make sure that she gets to the castle."

"I go with her everywhere. I have direct orders from the King not to let her out of my sight... If you could hold her for a second as I get on, that would be helpful though," I said as I handed the crumpled body to the worker. He staggered back from the weight for a second and then took off running across the ship. I was mid-step to get onto the boat, I hurled all of my weight forward, falling and landing for a brief second before I was standing again and running after the worker.

I passed by multiple people on the edge of the ship hunting for the worker. He must have gone down to the crew's corridors. I raced to the front of the ship to alert the captain. As I neared the bridge of the ship where the captain would be, I saw a flash of perfect red hair nearing the corner. Dahlia. I sprinted in that direction. I was faster than the worker, even if I'd had Dahlia instead of him.

I would win a race against the fastest man in Dragonmir. I was trained by the best, worked harder than the rest. My father was the one teaching me everything I know so that I could take his place in a few years as the General Of The Royal Guard.
