Dream Girl: The Heart Gods' Beginning (2021)

Chapter 1: The assignment

Today is November 27th, 2023. Everyone's inside their third period class. Me and my friends are in history with Miss Banner. Ten minutes into class, students have to do the daily questionnaire to where we left off or what we learned throughout the year. Today it asked us related to what we know about the Heart Gods.

Miss Banner enters the classroom, "Good morning everyone! I hope everyone has a great day so far! Since it's been ten minutes, please make sure your name is on your daily questionnaire and pass it along."

We all pass it to the end of the desks when she grabs five from each desk. There're a hundred students inside. Five on each desk.

After grabbing all of the papers, she faces the class, "Thank you all. Today's lesson will be focused on the History of the Heart Gods."

Heaven suddenly interrupts, "Oh for the love of peace! How many classes does it involve note taking?! My hands are so done from all that writing! First Professor Sweet gave us a lesson about chemicals, then Miss Japan made us write down kanji!"

She was looking at him before chuckling, "Sorry. I wish I can help with that. You never know how many days of school will be canceled. That's why we need to get as far as we can."

She looks through the papers, "From what I'm seeing, not that many of you know much about them. This is the perfect time to talk about it."

She walks towards her desk, "Now then, lemme get some slides out for notes." Heaven bangs his head repeatedly on the desk.

She noticed him, "Um, Heaven-Kun. You're gonna hurt yourself if you keep going. I would get out your paper and pen now if I were you."

He stopped with his head on the desk, "Gimmie a fucking break. My hands are gonna be numb by the time it's over."

"I'm so sorry. The notes aren't that long so it shouldn't be that bad."

After fifteen minutes of note taking, everyone puts away their notes and pencils. Heaven's head is on the desk when Miss Banner makes an announcement for the class.

"Alright class, that's today's lesson. Your homework for today is to interview five people about what they know about the Heart Gods."

She gasps before happily continuing, "Oh yeah, I'll give you a bonus for interviewing a Heart God or Goddess."

Students were more surprised than they were before when one student respond, "Are you sure it's possible?! Getting an interview from one is super rare!"

She responds, "Yeah. It's an option to do one with them but maybe it'll be good to find one that'll offer you something."

Gina and I look at each other when she speaks, "Say, Mi-Chan. It doesn't sound like a bad idea. Maybe whoever we couldn't interview we can find a Heart God that'll help us."

I respond, "Yeah. That's honestly really helpful."

The school bell rang when everyone grabbed their stuff as Miss Banner moves out of the way to allow room for students to leave.

"Well. I can't wait to hear what you all received for your assignment. Have a nice day everyone."

It's lunch time. Since me, Gina, Alice, Heaven, and Candy are top students, we get out our bypass line passes when we go in line to grab our lunches. To avoid being stuck by crowds, there's a separate line for us to use.

Before lunch, students receive a notification on what meals they have. You get to select what you want and the lunch admin has them ready for you. To avoid long waits, they put out the trays for students to take what they ordered and find their seat.

After we all got what meals we ordered, we meet up at the staircase but Candy isn't around yet. We were making fun of the name of a chemical that we learned in chemistry.

Candy suddenly interrupts, "Hey guys. Did you hear about The Sweet Tooth candy store that just opened today?"

We all got his attention when Alice responds, "Oh, no I haven't. That sounds like a great place to check out."

"Yeah, Roxie sadly lost her job at the chocolate place so she's hoping to apply over there."

Heaven responds, "Damn really? What happened?"

An announcement went off. It was Principal Love, "All top students are welcome to visit the principals office for lunch today." The announcement ended.
