Mysterious People

"Hello?" A sleepy Ry said putting the phone up to her ear.

"Happy Birthday to you! Happy Birthd-" Dani and Zayna sung before Ry hung up the phone only for the phone to ring again.

"what do y'all want?" Ry said getting up to brush her teeth cause she knew they weren't finna let her go back to sleep.

"First of all don't hang up on us ever again." Zay started. "Second of all what is your problem? We just wanted to say Happy Birthday."

"I'm sorry. I'm just tired." Ry expressed putting her toothbrush to her mouth.

"Alright tell us what's wrong Ry." Dani said.

"I just said was tired. So leave it alone!" Ry shouted.

"You sound sad Ryliee and I just wanted to help. Happy Birthday." Dani replied hanging up the phone.

Ry groaned and spit all the excess toothpaste out of her mouth.

She felt horrible. She didn't mean to yell at her best friends, she was just upset and felt like shit.

She reached to grab her phone attempting to call them back before a rush of God knows what came over her.

Ry ran to the toilet lifting the seat up and letting all of last nights dinner spill out of her.

She sighed, getting in the shower and throwing on some sweats and a hoodie.

Her birthday dinner was later today but she didn't even want to go to it. She just wanted to sleep and ignore the world.

She plopped on her bed ready to watch some TikToks before she remembered what happened earlier with her friends, so she decided to call them.

"Yes Ry?" Zayna answered.

"I'm sorry for getting upset with y'all. I haven't been having the best days but it was wrong of me to take it out on y'all." Ry said getting straight to the point.

"It's fine bug. Now tell us what's actually wrong. What been going on?" Dani asked turning off the movie that her and Zayna were watching so they could pay attention to Ry.

"Its really not that serious. It's just that I feel like everyone hasn't been acting the same lately. Y'all seem so distant now. I keep overthinking and Im starting to question everything. On top of that, I think I'm getting sick. I cant eat anything without throwing it right back up" Ry sighed in relief that she's got everything off of her chest.

"We're sorry Ry. We didn't mean to be distant. We've just been really busy and we had to plan something for someone so we haven't had time to do much." Zay said.

"No it's fine. Y'all don't have to apologize. I understand that y'all still have lives and things to do. I'm just an over thinker."

"Well how about this." Dani starting remembering that Bey wanted them to distract Ry so they could decorate. "You come over and we can all spend time together before your birthday dinner."

"When?"

"Right now. I'm finna order you an uber."

"Okay see y'all in a little bit." Ry said blowing them a kiss and hanging up the phone.

She got out of the bed and got her stuff together when she heard a knock on the door.

"Come in."

"Happy Birthday sweetheart!" Bey said walking over to Ryliee and hugging her.

"Thank you." Ry said hugging her back.

"Where you finna go?" Bey asked pulling away from Ry.

"I'm finna go to my house and spend some time with Zay and Dani before the dinner. They ordered me an uber."
