"I don't feel up for this." Jet finally speaks up, "Huh?" Spike was shuffling cards, "I said I don't feel like doing this!" Jet raises his voice slightly, "Then I have no choice." Spike stands up, "Hold on a sec, where are you headed?" I walk into the room, "Mao Yenrai." Jet points at the monitor, "How much you know about him?" I lean closer and look at him, "Man, twenty eight million woolong." I whistle, "Enough to get the picture." Spike puts his hands in his pockets, "There's a fat bounty, plenty of info on the guy and we have a lead. So what are you scared of?" Spike looks at Jet, "Spike you're avoiding the subject and you know it. What are you trying to hide from me?" Jet sits on the chair, "So how'd you mess up your arm Jet?" Spike scowls at him, "What does that have to do with it?" Jet furrows his brows, "So when are you gonna answer my question?" Jet glares at him, "When are you gonna answer mine?" Spike frowns at him, the door slid open, "Why is this door so small you can barely get through." Faye stumbles in with armfuls of bags, "Uh, what's going on?" She looks at the boys, "None of your business," Jet doesn't even look at her, "Hey! We're supposed to be a team here you know!" Faye retaliates, "Since when? You're just walking trouble so stay out of it." Jet grits his teeth, "Fine~ Like I care." She hops down and looks at the monitor, "Who's this guy?" She stares at Mao, "No clue, ask before you look." Jet grumbles, "It's sitting right there, lighten up." She furrows her brows, "Spike! Wait a minute Spike." Jet says as he walks out, "I'll see what got his panties in a twist." I sigh and follow him out.
We were on Mars and Spike seemed locked on this Mao guy, "What's up with you." I fix his tie and suck on my lollypop, "It's nothing really." He sighs and puts his head in his hand, "Come on now, spill, you aren't gonna spill with me? That's a little rude." I put my hands on my waist, "Well... we've got connections." Spike looks down at me, "See, it wasn't that hard was it, now why couldn't you tell Jet?" I grin and fiddle with the lollypop stick in my mouth, "I don't want him meddling with my past." He zips my transparent jumper up, "Is this a solo mission then?" I lean on the Swordfish, "Your call sweetheart." He takes my lollypop out of my mouth and puts it in his, boarding the Swordfish, "You stupid flirt." I blush and hide my face.
I lay on the couch peacefully, shuffling the cards between my hands, "Wanna play Blackjack? Actually... speaking of Blackjack, how did you and Spike meet let alone get married? You always said men were a waste of time." Faye looks at me and sits on the opposite side of my face, "Oh that whole marriage thing was a sham to get some extra bucks." I grin and throw the cards towards her, they all fluttered in the air, "Heh?" She looks at me, "Yeah there's nothing going on between Spike and I." I say but deep down I felt a pang in my chest, "Are you there Jet I got something big!" Someone flashed on the monitor, "Something big..." Faye and I look at each other before grinning, "Want to go back to the good old days partner?" She smirks, "Couldn't be happier." I grin and the two of us jump up.
The two of us fly down, "Geez you ought to get your tight flying under control Faye," I saw her swerve down, "Hey! It was fine, I made it in one piece." She pouts, "Ugh, get me out of this dress." I kick my leg up and felt all the fabric flow around me, "Excuse me but I need to see your tickets for the concert." An employee walks up to us, "Tickets? Of we don't have any tickets." Faye fans her face, "Well I'm afraid I can't let you in ladies." She shakes his head, "Oh alright, but I'm sure he's going to be very unhappy with you." I smirk lightly, "H-Huh?!" He looks at me, "That's right, him. Balcony first box. You know who." I smile, "O-Oh!" I put my finger to his lips, "Can you park our zipcrafts, they're out front. Thanks~" Faye and I drop our keys in his hands, I was on alert the entire time while Faye seemed to wallow in the riches, "Is this Mr Mao Yenrain's box? We looked all over for it." I ask, "Yes, we've been waiting for you ladies." A man opens the door, and I take a short breath when I felt a gun to my back, "I expect you to stay quiet during the performance." A second undercover employee walks over and had his gun to Faye's back. The two of us comply and walk into the box quietly, we sit down and my eyes widen, Mao's throat, slit open, blood gushing out, "Please, take a seat, Ms Valentine and Ms Frost." We turn around and saw the employee we gave our keys to standing at the door, Faye gasps lightly, "We did very thorough checks now please, enjoy the performance." They say, "You're trembling." I shivered slightly when I felt lips grazing against my shoulder, "Who are you, tell me." I take a deep breath and keep my chin up, relaxing my shoulders, "Vicious." He whispers and grabs a lock of my hair, smelling it, "Now Vicious. Would you piss off respectfully." I smile watching the opera singer, Faye was trembling in her seat, "Come now sweetheart." He whispers, "Only one person can call me that and it's not you." I stand up from my seat, Faye follows suit, the other men pull out their guns, "No, I say we should go for a little walk." Vicious lowered his hand, "I couldn't agree more." I smile, he holds his arm out and I link my arm in his, "Nat, what are you doing!" Faye hisses, "Shut up otherwise I'll knock your teeth in." I smile sweetly, she sweats, "Say Vicious, the least you can do is let FayeFaye go home safely, don't you agree?" I pat his arm, "Fine, let that one go." He scoffs, "Nat!" Faye looks at me, I shake my head subtly and I saw her get taken back out of the Opera.
I was chained up at the cathedral, I kicked a small monitor and linked it to the BeBop radio frequency, "Hey boys." I saw Jet and Spike, "Nat!" Spike ran to the monitor, "Want to come give a girl a hand? It might just trickle with your own personal matters Spike~" I grin, "What do you know about my past." He says seriously, "Spike, I know a whole lot more than you think I do." I also say seriously, the two men were silent, "Cathedral near Startrough Street. Come, if you want." I had my hands chained behind a small pillar, "And if you do, hurry it up, my arms are starting to go numb." I kick the monitor again and cut our transmission.
"Vicious~" I bop my foot up and down, humming, "What?" He whips towards me, "Don't get me in the crossfire, it's not on my best interest to be filled with holes." I smirk. I was taken out into the main cathedral, I saw Spike walking in, "Spike!" I trash around a little, "Now hold still sweetheart, don't want a hole to blow through your head." He held his gun up, "What's wrong? If you don't comply-" The man grabbing me had his gun pointed at Spike but before I knew it he was shot in the head, my eyes widen and I run towards Spike, "Oh thank goodness you're safe." he holds me tight and strokes my hair, whispering over and over again, I grab his jacket tight with the blood of the man dotted on my face, suddenly I heard a machine gun clicking into place, I push Spike down and land on top of him, "We gotta go." He pulls my wrist after him, "You gotta get out of here." We hid behind a pillar, his hand cupped my cheek, "No, I'm not leaving you." I shake my head, I felt him pull me in by my waist and shoot multiple rounds, killing a man who stepped out, I saw him pull the pin out of a grenade with his teeth and throws it out onto the floor, the vibrations reverberating inside us, "Go." He looks at me, "Spike..." Tears pooled in my eyes, my eyes widen as he kisses me, I couldn't help but kiss back, "Go!" He shot another man down and pushes me slightly towards the entrance.
I ran out and heard glass shattering, "Mmm!" I felt something in my mouth and I saw the grenade pin, "Spike..." I look back at the cathedral, I use the rod to unpick the cuffs off there was a loud bang and I saw shards of glass flying out from the large stained glass window, then someone falling out with it, "SPIKE!" I scream and sprint as fast as I could to him but my legs felt so heavy, the sky lit up with orange as another grenade went off, I hold him in my arms, he had a slash wound to his shoulder and cheek along with a bullet wound in his torso, "Nat..." He breathes out, I frantically dial into my phone, "JET!" I cry.
I was humming to myself, flicking through a magazine, watching over Spike, I hadn't slept or eaten a thing for three days since the incident, "You sing off key..." I hear a quiet voice, I perk up and saw Spike's eyes slowly open, "Oh you big idiot." I stumble over to him, "Ooh, oooh... oww, ow." I hop over as I stub one of my toes, "You've been out three days." I stroke his hair, he gingerly points at the bandages over his mouth, I loosen them and let him speak, "You looked so beautiful in that dress." He says ever so quietly, "That's the last time you're seeing me in a dress, couldn't despise them more. You'd be lucky to see me in a skirt." I giggle softly, "Also..." I take something out of my pocket, "It's not good manners to give a married woman a ring you know that." I pull out the grenade pin he pressed into my mouth three days ago, "Shut up." He closes his eyes again, "Spike, never do that to me again you hear me. No near death experiences allowed from now on you hear me Cowboy. You can't leave me to become a widow can you." I smile, "It's not in my best intentions but when my lady is in danger, I can't help but save her. Besides, if I remember correctly, I think a certain someone was having an affair behind my back." I feel him try to reach up to stroke my cheek, "Come on now, you know it was only to get some info my grabby hands are always greedy for. Don't go pushing yourself, I'll come to you, for now, no meeting each other half way, you're only allowed to come ten percent, I'll run the extra lap for you." I lean down and kiss his lips, I felt his hands go into my hand, "Did you eat another lollypop?" He smiles, I stick my red dyed tongue out, "You taste sweet even without it." He kisses me again.
