In 1998, pircliff mall, in the centre of town, was the site of a deadly set of murders. On the night of December 19th, a young woman in blond hair, attacked 15 people, and killed 12. She started to attack them with knives and guns, and was only stopped after the 12 were dead. She then proceeded to shoot herself. The cause of the incident was ruled as a psychological breakdown.
