As the daughter of Geto, you were held to a high expectation. One that you desperately tried to fulfill to his standards. You raced around, trying to master your cursed techniques.
He had always told you to befriend the Jujutsu sorcerers, but you hadn't really come into contact with them. You'd been hidden, by your father, since you were little. He rarely talked about his past with you, but the few times he did he mentioned a strange man. A Satoru Gojo.
However, on a random day in the middle of winter you accidentally spilled your hot chocolate on a young boy in one of your favorite cafes. Mortified, you went to apologize. You mopped at the ground with a bundle of napkins, muttering apologies profusely. The boy said nothing, and you feared the worst. But a prominent stained blush had broken over his cheeks as his dark blue eyes met yours. You came face to face with him as you rose to your feet.
"I don't know if I've said this enough, but I'm really sorry!" you squeaked out, and you could hear a small chuckle come from his lips.
"No, it's okay. It didn't even hit me, just the table was collateral damage," he replied, and smiled at you. "If anything it was my fault and I owe you another hot chocolate."
You tried to deny his request but he was insistent. He didn't hesitate to walk you back to the front and order you another, and was satiated when you had the fresh cup in your hands.
"I have a friend who also loves hot chocolate, you know," He said, as you sat with him for a moment at a nearby table. The heat still hadn't left your face from when you'd created a massive scene. Father was sure to scold you if he found out what you were doing at the moment.
"Really?" You asked, distractedly. He frowned at you, which seemed to be his natural state. But when he'd smiled at you earlier, it was the most genuine, pure smile you'd seen in a long time.
"I'm sorry, do you have somewhere to be?" He questioned, and you remembered with a jolt. Father was expecting you home, you had more techniques to learn, more energy to gain.
"Yes, I'm sorry. I forgot this was only supposed to be a small detour and then straight back to my house. I didn't mean to make you upset," you said quietly, and he smiled at you again, his frown lifting.
"No, I didn't mean it like that. I just meant you looked distracted and I was a bit worried you were missing something," he replied, and he pulled out his phone, the sudden ringing irritating him again.
He yelled into the phone and then rolled his eyes. "I have to be going as well-" He started to go, but spun on his heel quickly. "Wait! I didn't get your name?" He yelled across the distance of the cafe, halfway out the door.
"It's Y/N. F/N L/N," you replied, sipping your drink.
With a confident look, he smiled and answered, "I'll find you."
--------
It didn't take him long. You quickly started exchanging messages back and forth with the young sorcerer, learning more and more about him each day. You came to anticipate his messages, and had to hide them from your increasingly observant father. He knew you were smiling more, and less focused on your activities. He didn't like it one bit.
He questioned you one day, and you had just told him an excuse about making a friend while you were attending classes. That had seemed to quell his concerns for the time being.
You grew closer and closer to this boy. You had finally learned his name, after he called you when he first messaged you. This Megumi boy, he had you enamored. The calls you two exchanged made your days seem easier, and he filled your life with light.
The dark you'd lived in for so long, being constantly around living cursed spirits was draining. When he called, you could escape to a world that was for you. Created by you.
Your father heard though. One night you took a call on the balcony instead of your quarters like usual, and his questioning was relentless. He knew who you were talking to, he had his cursed friends look into this boy who his daughter was so taken with.
You were in you room when he came to confront you. Not even bothering to knock, he pushed through your door, shutting it loudly behind him.
"So, you've been lying to me this whole time. To your father," he yelled, and your questioning look did nothing to help. "This "friend" you made, it's a boy. Does the name Megumi Fushiguro ring a bell to you Y/N?" He had a smug look at this point at seeing your shocked reaction to his newfound knowledge.
"I just want you to know, if you don't cease contact with this Megumi boy, we'll have to end his life for knowing you."
He left your room, but you ran after him.
"Father! STOP! I LOVE HIM," you screamed, tears running down your face. Your father turned on his heel and put his hand under your chin, "I know you do daughter, and that will be the words on his headstone."
You fled back to your room, your sobbing was so loud it echoed through the hallways. You called Megumi, and woke him from his sleep. You hadn't even realized you'd cried long into the night.
"What is it angel?" his tone was sleepy and raspy, but once he heard you sniffling, his tone turned frantic. "Are you okay? Is everything alright!?"
You just sobbed into the receiver, and he waited until you calmed down.
"Megs-" you sobbed out, "Can you meet me tomorrow at that cafe we first met?"
"Yes, of course," he replied, "Are you sure you'll be alright?"
"Yes," you answered, trying to stop your tears. His next words did nothing to help.
"Goodnight my angel, I love you."
You just sobbed as you mumbled the words back to him. He sleepily slid the call to end and you curled into a ball to cry yourself to sleep.
-------------
You fidgeted from foot to foot outside the cafe you had met Megumi in several months before. Your eyes were so red and puffy, the aftermath of your nightlong crying session. You finally saw him, racing across the street to meet you. He ran up to you and grabbed your hands.
"Y/N," he said, cupping your cheek in his hand. "Oh god, are you okay? What happened-"
You put a hand up to stop him you had to do this quickly, before you started crying again, though you could already feel the tears welling up again.
"Megumi Fushiguro," you started, your voice wavering, "I can't see you again. This isn't working out for me."
He pulled his hand away from your cheek, shocked. "But Y/N I love you." The look on his face, made your tears finally fall onto your cheeks.
"Yeah, but I don't love you."
You pulled away from him and started into the crowd to the crosswalk. You were halfway when he yelled at you to stop. You paused and turned to him, "I know that's a lie Y/N."
His yelling distracted you from the crowd rushing across, the light flickering from green for go, to red for no more crossing.
If "I love you", was a promise-
He could only watch in horror as the cars expected you to continue to one side, and an unfortunate driver wasn't paying attention.
Would you break it, if you're honest?
He cradled your body in his arms, the commotion around him dying out. Your voice was faint and raspy,
"I'm sorry Megs. It was better this way anyway. At least- at least now you'll be safe."
A tear ran down his cheek and landed on yours.
"I really did love you Megumi Fushiguro."

** OK, well after that, I wanted to end it with our final words being the affirmation he wanted to hear, and to know we weren't lying. But to be honest this scene played out much smoother in my head. It might be rough and I'll come back to it. But you can enjoy it for now!
I'll return:)
