Lila picked me up and I told her about the argument I had with my mother. We then decided that we will visit our favorite coffee shop. Where we would always go to blow off some steam, talk or just to get away from the world, and right now I'm desperately in need of all three.
"So what are you suggesting? Not to go to your 'DREAM' college because your mom wants to be petty??" She said sarcastically.
"I don't know what I'm suggesting. I just don't understand why it's a bad thing. I talk about this college all the time. She has never had a problem with it but now when it's happening she wants to be against my decision, I just don't get it" I said.
"You think she has something against the college or the country itself?" Lila asked.
"I don't know" I replied back.
I sat back in my chair and took a sip of my coffee.
"No matter what she says I am not putting down my dream college!" I said rolling my eyes.
Looking up from my coffee cup I saw Lila smiling.
"That's my girl," she said grinning.

The rest of the day went by fast. We stayed back at the coffee shop for a couple of minutes and now Lila just dropped me off back at home.
I walked up to the front door but stopped in my tracks. Took a deep breath. Then I went in.
"I'M HOME!" I shouted.
I made my way to the living room and started looking for a movie.
"MOM I'M HOME!!" I shouted again
"How was your day" she finally answered coming downstairs.
"Good, where were you?" I asked
"I went up to the attic" she replied.
"Since when do we go in our attic," I said rather than asked.
"I was putting some stuff in there" she replied anyway.
"Oh, are we good mom?" I asked.
"Yes, why wouldn't we be?" She said normally.
"It's just that earlier-" before I could finish she cut me off.
"Don't worry about that, what movie are you going to watch?" She asked.
"The Grinch" I replied.
"It's not winter season," she said in a 'duh' tone.
"Mom, it's a classic you watch it any season " I sarcastically stated.
We sat and watched the Grinch then went to bed.
I have to say I feel quite satisfied that we partially worked things out. I can leave for college tomorrow not feeling guilty or any other negative emotions than excitement and happiness.
