*1....2....3....4....5* Eris counts in her head as the cool water of her bathtub, covers her face. *6.....7....8....9...10* she continues to count *11....12....13....14...15* her head becomes light as the darkness takes over, Eris uses all her force to pull her head above the water.

From the tub, Eris looks at her self in the mirror, wet hair clings to her face, mascara runs down her face. Never before did she let it get that far, let the dark thoughts invade her mind. The looks on his face still haunts her mind. Those bullets with blue tips infects her dreams. They are fighting a losing battle but there's no way in hell that Eris would ever back down from a fight.

Every time she closes her eyes, it's all she can see, it's all she can hear. The screams haunt her dreams, haunt her mind more than anything had ever haunted her before. It got so bad that Eris kicked Jay out of the apartment, she doesn't let him stay round anymore, they barely even see each other anymore. Eris doesn't pick up the phone to him, the woman barely picks up the phone to her father or Garcia. Why did Jay think he would be special?  After staring at herself in the tub for 25 minutes, she eventually pulls herself out and gets ready for work.

"Hey Lori, what's this?" Eris smiles at her media liaison officer as she hands her a Starbucks, iced caramel coffee and a new case.

"This is a case they want us to consult just south of China town, three missing toddlers" Lori explains as they walk towards her office, Eris raises an eyebrow as she sips her coffee "all taken from the play area of park 540, in broad daylight" ok that got her attention, Eris stops in her tracks and turns to Lori. "Thought that would get your attention, each one from a divorced parent household where there was a brutal custody hearing and the father one. All fathers received death threats in the weeks leading up the abduction but assumed that it was the crazy ex wives sending them so did nothing about it" Lori sits in front of Eris's desk as she flicks through the files.

"Ok you got my attention. Let's go, grab Matt and Charlie as well" Eris grabs her radio off the side along with keys to one of the cars. "Fill them in on the way" she calls to Lori as she walks off towards the war room, not paying attention to where she is going, Eris walks into Matt "oh hey. Good. Come with me" Matt spins around and follows her.

"Where are we going? And might I say you look particularly beautiful this morning" he winks at her spinning his coffee. She scoffs at him sipping her own "the lack of sleep really suits you" the pair laugh together.

"We are going to consult on a case with the 9th district. Missing toddlers and death threats" Eris informs him as they climbs into the car as Charlie climbs into the back.

"You spoke to Jay lately?" Matt asks as they set off, the police radio murmuring quietly. Eris just focusing on the road ahead, sipping her coffee with one hand on the wheel, shaking her head "I saw him at the gym" Eris just continues to sip her  coffee, she nods her head "he was asking about you" She shoots him the shut the fuck up look "Ok ok I'll be quiet"

"Any available units to the corner of West Cermak and South Hoyne Avenue. Active shooting in progress" The dispatch officer repeats on the radio, Eris and Matt both look at each other and nod.

"SSA Simmons approaching in back SUV with officers Gabriel and Gallagher. Be advise we are plain clothed officers. That's plain clothes officer attending" Matt radios back as Eris switches on the lights and sirens.

Reaching the corner of west 22nd place and South Hoyne they hear the gun fire coming from further down the block. Charlie radios it in for the rest of the team to join him before they all grab their guns. Making their way up the block, guns cocked ready to shoot at any point. As they turn on to West Cermak, Eris clocks her dads truck alongside it Jays. Of course they would be here. No shock there.

Clocking the last remaining shooter, Eris aims, shoots, hitting him dead in the shoulder, then in the knee. The guy goes down like a sack of shit. They can hear Hank's bellowing laugh coming from down the street.

"That's my girl" he laughs as Eris and the team come walking down the block.

"Yeah you guys look like you were struggling without us" Eris laughs fist bumping her Dad and Ruzek, they all watch as the guys get arrested. Her phone vibrates in the pocket.

"You got this?" Eris asks lighting up a smoke.

"Yeah we go this. You go ahead" Hank fists bumps her one more time before putting his hands in his vest breast.

"Sound" Eris fists Bumbs Adam before starting to walk away.

"HEY ERIS" Hank shouts back at his daughter, she spins around in her spot, smoke hanging out of her mouth.

"YOU MIGHT WANT TO CHECK THIS OUT" Jay calls from the door to an abandon warehouse. She sighs.

"Wait in the car. This won't take long" Eris tells the rest of the team before gently jogging over to where Jay is standing.

"You'll need this" He holds up a bandanna, she sighs taking it before the smell hits her. Even with it protecting her mouth she gags "I told you" Jay quietly laughs as he ties it around her head. "Follow me"

Jay slips in front of her, leading Eris through the winding corridors, the smells gets stronger and stronger. Almost vomiting in her makeshift mask. No one has ever smelt anything like this. Jay leads her into the single most horrifying scene she thinks she's ever seen.

"Matt?" Eris radios through.

"Yeah boss?" He answers almost immediately

"Get the whole team down here, call Lori. Emily is going to have to take the toddler case" Eris stares in shock at the sight in front of her. What kind of monster would do this?
