"So you were right, slowly over the last month the family have been coming over to Chicago. We have them entering the city on multiple occasions. Twice a week for the brothers. But slowly the rest of the family have been moving in. It's not clear whether the other families are coming with them" Kim hands over a case file to Eris as she throws a candy in the air for her.
"Perfect thanks. Carl did we get anything on the shipment?" Eris asks as she sticks the surveillance shots up from the airport.
"Not yet. Shipment is due in 3 hours. There is a team that has been briefed and ready to go" Carl smiles at her.
"Ok thanks guys. I'm going to go with the docks team along with Simmons, Gallagher, Halstead, Voight, Rusek and Burges. Hailey go with Luke to the morgue. We need to the rest of those report" Eris swallows her pride "Hailey" she says with gritted teeth, everyone looks at her in anticipation "can you contact Sophi and see if any similar crimes have happened between New York City and here. They didn't just randomly pick here" She smiles forcefully. Jay winks at her supporting her being nice.
"Ok docks team lets suit up and brief in 30 minutes"Matt informs the team as everyone gets on with their work "you sure about this?" Matt asks hushly toward Eris as she flicks through paperwork.
"I fucking hope so" Eris doubts herself.
It feels like only yesterday that Jay was strapping her up to bring down Kennington. But a year later he is doing the same, stealing up a bullet proof vest that might not even be up to standard. These men are known for killing cops and have even designed a bullet to do so.
As she thinks back to that day, she feels Jays arms around her as he straps her up tight.
"Be careful" Jay whispers in her ear, sending shivers down her spine. In true fashion of them working together she says the following.
"Remember. I hate paperwork" They both laugh, they need a little laughter right now. Eris spins round kissing him quickly before joining the rest of the team.
"Ok guys. We are there for the shipment. Until we see what is in it we cannot arrest them. We got our warrant and we will get them the proper way. We do not want them getting off on a technicality again. You all have your orders and keep comms on. As always Hank will answer to Voight, and I will answer to Gabriel. Save y'all tiny brains the confusion" Eris announces, they all laugh "ok guys let's roll, shipment is due" she smiles at the team as they roll out. Jay and her head straight for his truck.
"We got this" Jay says as they arrive at the dock.
The entire driver there had been complete silence. Jay had been focusing on the cases. On the other hand, Eris had been thinking about Lucas. Thinking about what her life could of been , what his life could of been if she had been present. How Jay would never been in her life if things had been different.
On arrival at the docks, the dockmaster meets them, showing them to container that had just arrived. The team move silently towards the containment, as the circle the container Eris gives the signal to move in. Rusek moves in with the bolt cutters, there's a loud bang as the chain and pad look falls to the ground.
He looks to her as she nods, with Burges and Simmons on either side of him guns pointed at the entrances. Rusek opens the cargo door, an all mighty stench hits them. For a second they all dead they are too late but then three girls make their way out.
"STAND DOWN" Eris calls out as everyone lowers their weapons. "Trudy" Eris talks into comms.
"Yes mini Voight" Trudy says.
"I need three ambos to my location, notify the coroner multi deceased and I need CSI to my location" Eris says monotoned.
"Yes right away Voight" Trudy realises the seriousness of this situation.
"And Trudy?" Eris says.
"Yeah?"
"Can you put a warrant out for the Gallato brothers" Eris instructs.
