Chapter 5

On Saturday morning, Anabella arrived at the apartment and Joe opened the door to greet her. " Good morning," Anabella said with a smile, stepping in, she was removing her coat. His eyes went to the swell of her breasts beneath her cream colored sweater. He was itching to know what kind of bra she wore beneath it. "Mr. Mcintyre?" she said when he didn't respond to the greeting.

He blinked startled," Yes yes. Good morning Ana," he said. Giselle came hurrying when she heard her Dad say Anabella's name. She came to a stop by her Dad and looked at Anabella.

" Ana. I'm sorry I was such a brat yesterday," Giselle said softly to her, her hands were folded in front of her.

"It's alright sweetheart, it's a big change... I understand why you were upset..." She smiled.

"Thank you for helping my Daddy. His work takes a lot, and he's always here for us," Giselle told her," He comes to all our events." Joe placed his hand on Giselle's shoulder and smiled at Anabella. " If you want you can take the kids to the park today. I think it might be good for them to get out of the apartment," he said to Anabella.

" I'd love that," she said smiling at Joe. That and he needed to not be thinking dirty thoughts about this woman today, which was going to be a big fail. He knew it already.

"I'm going out," they heard as Bethany breezed past them to the door.

"Mommy, won't you come to the park with us?" Giselle asked sadly.

"Grandma needs my help," Bethany said curtly. Bethany's parents lived nearby in the area. Joe knew for whatever reason that Bethany going over there was probably not for help.

"Oh, okay," Giselle said sadly, watching her mother walk out the door.

"I need you," she whimpered before sinking to carpeted flooring of the apartment.

Joe's heart broke watching his daughter like this. He went over to Giselle," Hey how about Daddy goes to the park with everyone? He can work later," he offered softly.

"Oh no, daddy it's okay, we'll have fun with Ana... you get your work done.." Giselle said.

"And if daddy finishes early, he can join us!! besides I got a picnic basket and things for a real live tea party!" Anabella smiled.

"I love tea!" Giselle said surprised.

Anabella smiled," Well then you will love this. Come on get your brothers and we can go to the park, and let Daddy do some work."

"Okay!!!" she gushed excitedly and rushed across the living room towards the bedrooms and went to get her brothers.

"Now when she says tea, she means sweet tea, right?" Anabella asked Joe.

Joe shook his head," No. Actual tea, black tea. She drinks it with sugar and cream. I let her have it when we go out to restaurants. She's very sophisticated for an eight year old."

"Oh goodness! alright, then I'll pack the tea bags, and the cream and sugar," she said rushing to get water boiling to put in a thermos and to make sure everything was ready.

Joe had to smile. Anabella really wanted to make this day a good one for Giselle. He liked that, he heard the kids' footsteps as they came out of their rooms.

"Alright kiddos," Anabella said, putting that water in the thermos, and then into the picnic basket.

"Yay let's go!" Giselle said happily. She was looking forwards to the park.

" Be good for Ana. I love you guys," Joe said to the kids.

" We will Dad, don't worry," Gage said.

The kids put on their shoes and coats. Anabella put on her coat and picked up the picnic basket and they headed out to go to the park for a picnic.

Gage was treading behind with the cooler on wheels. He was curious to see what Anabella had packed. She of course had the creamer for Giselle's tea and some fresh fruit in there, with tiny OJ and milk cartons for the boys and her. She even had some cheese pieces, breads, and crackers. She hoped that the kids would enjoy it and a day outside. At the park, she opened the basket and pulled out a blanket she lay on the ground and put the basket down to begin unpacking the items.

"Oh yay!! black tea!!!" Giselle said excitedly, as Anabella pulled out the tea bags and the thermos, with a couple of teacups.

She smiled," Tea is always good," she said. She prepared the tea letting the tea bag sit in the hot water to steep, putting it in front of Giselle. She arranged the cheese, fruit, breads, and crackers on a plate. " There's orange juice and milk also," she said. Gage picked up a strawberry to eat. Beckett looked bored.

"What's wrong Beckett?" Anabella asked.

"I wanted to play basketball. She smiled and tossed him the bag she had been carrying. He looked confused till he pulled out a basketball.

"How did you know to bring a ball?" he asked her startled.

" Well you don't go to the park for nothing right? so I was hoping one of you would want to play ball," She told him.

"Awesome! totally!!" he said, setting it beside him to eat.

The kids seemed to be opening up more to Anabella and she was glad. She liked them. Giselle removed her tea bag once it had steeped and laid on the saucer. She added cream and sugar, stirring it with the spoon.

"You and your tea," Gage chuckled.

" I like tea," Giselle told him as she put her spoon down and picked up her cup, and blew on the hot liquid before taking a sip of it. Anabella picked up a piece of bread and a square of cheese to take a bite. Beckett picked up a grape to eat.

"Good?" She asked Giselle

."Yes, very good, thanks!" she smiled.

"You're welcome," she said glad that Giselle liked it. Anabella fixed herself a cup of tea as well to drink. Gage grabbed an orange juice and an apple slice. "Dad said you have nephews," Gage said to Ana.

" Yes. I have nephews who live in North Carolina," she told him.

"Wow, that's a long way away!" he said.

"Yeah, it is. I moved away from there for school," she explained," So I'll have to visit them when I can."

" Wouldn't you miss them a lot?" Giselle asked her.

"I already do miss them, a whole bunch, but I had to move for school, school is very important..." She said.

"That's sad," Giselle said softly," We only moved because of Daddy's job."

"Moving is always hard for everyone, no matter how old!" She agreed.

" We like it here now," Gage said," It was hard at first though."

" You guys adapted well then," she said with a smile, picking up her teacup and blowing on the liquid before taking a sip of it. " You'll like it here too," Giselle spoke up.

"So your dad has said, I told him the city was a little scary," Anabella smiled.

"Oh, the subways are fun! Daddy takes us on them all the time, it's super easy," Giselle told her.

"I hope so! There are just bad stories on the news.." Ana said.

"You just have to be very careful," Gage said," That's what Dad says anyway. He always tells us to be careful and not talk to strangers."

"That's very good advice!!" Anabella agreed.

They enjoyed the snacks and drinks. " Can I play ball now?" Beckett asked.

" I'll play with you," Gage told him.

" Go on," Ana told them with a smile."Stay where I can see you!" She added.
