Chapter 3

Anabella was finishing cleaning up when a woman came out of the bedroom.

"Joe said there was food?" Bethany asked.

"Oh yes, we have some leftover cheese pizza I made, mac and cheese and fish sticks. I can heat up a plate of something for you. Or I can fix you something," Anabella offered.

"What else can you make? can you do a panini? we have a press," she said, nodding to the counter.

"Of course, what kind would you like?" She asked her.

"Ham, and Cheese. But only two slices of Ham and one of the cheese. The American," Bethany ordered her," And do NOT burn it."

"Yes ma'am..." Ana said, turning to make the panini. She rolled her eyes once her back was to Bethany. Man, she was kind of a bitch.

"So, Joe says you're sick a lot? sleeping and headaches? have you gotten a diagnosis yet?" She asked politely.

"It's called I need not to always be watching our damn kids, while he's all over the fucking map," Bethany told her," I raised his kids. Now it's his turn."

"Oh, he had hinted that you had an illness, I apologize ma'am.." She said, making her sandwich as requested, before putting it in the press.

Bethany laughed," He's too nice to explain. That was always his worst fault. He likes to be perfect, and I do have headaches because of all the shit he puts me through."

Anabella didn't know how to respond to that. Blaming Joe for having the children and asking her to help raise them, it was pretty rude.

Bethany didn't seem to care for an answer. She was waiting for the sandwich. Anabella had set the timer to go off when the panini press would go off. Once the sandwich was ready and the press went off, Anabella removed the sandwich and put it on a plate adding pickle slices on the side.

" Honey just make the damn sandwich you aren't in a five star restaurant," Bethany snapped at her, holding her hand out for the plate of food.

She nodded and just handed it over, before getting back to unloading the dishwasher. Jesus... what a bitch....

Bethany walked back towards the bedroom with the plate, and Joe looked up to see her coming in. " Hold on did you just ASK her to make you something to eat? She's not a servant Beth! I hired her to help with the kids!" he said upset with her," I told you there was food already made." He was terrified of her personality rubbing off on Giselle and it might already have after the attitude display today and the thing at the dinner table.

"She asked me what I wanted, if I wanted the leftovers or if I wanted something else. SHE offered!!" Bethany argued rolling her eyes, as she got settled onto their bed.

"That's because she's a sweet woman. You should have had sense in your head to take the leftovers and not make her your servant bitch to boss around!" he yelled. He knew his voice would probably carry through the apartment but he was so pissed. He threw his pen down and got up to go to the kitchen to talk to Anabella. He walked in there and found her unloading the dishes. " Listen, I'm sorry about Bethany. She shouldn't have made you fix her dinner, you already made dinner," Joe told her.

"Oh no, Joe it's fine, I am here to help, please don't fight with your wife over me..." she smiled, waving it off.

"It was rude and inconsiderate. Bethany is a grown woman. She is still capable of making her own meals, she could have done it herself if she didn't like the dinner options," he told her.

"Joe, really, it's okay, you hired me to help with the kids, and if she wants to put herself in that category, let her," she giggled quietly.

Joe had to bite back a chuckle. Bethany was definitely acting more and more like Giselle's age, instead of the grown woman she was. " Well, I do apologize for today being so bumpy. I hope you'll stay on with us. Gage seems to like you," he offered. He, himself, liked her but he knew he couldn't say something like that.

"He's a good kid, I will stay on for sure, this is a big change for any kid, I can't expect them to love me right away...." she said, finishing up then wiping her hands.

"Yes, but they should be more respectful, especially Giselle. There was no need to act like her mother today," he grumbled the last part.

"Well, she'll come around, don't you worry, I give killer tea parties...." she smiled.

He chuckled," I think that will actually rope her in. That's something she would love to do," he told her.

"Then I shall set my plan in motion...." she giggled with a nod.

"Thank you for understanding," He said. He knew having her around would be good for the kids. It was the best choice he had made.

"You're welcome..." she smiled.

Anabella worked till she had to head back to her apartment. Joe thanked her for coming today and said he'd see her tomorrow. She put on her coat and headed home. She was anxious to get home to her own bed and change into her pajamas for the night. Once she was in her favorite pajamas, she climbed under the covers with a book. She planned to read until she fell asleep. She always wanted to write herself, but could never find the time to do so with her jobs and working so much.

She loved telling stories and hoped that someday she could write hers down. She was enjoying her book right now. She really wanted the couple to get together.

Poor Anabella, Bethany was pretty rude.
