Priscilla Pugliese was a great doctor, known throughout Miami. Inside the hospital, the brunette was a sweetheart, a caring doctor and always smiling. All patients adored her, especially the children, who had special attention from the brown-eyed girl.

Huntington's disease is an inherited disease that causes the progressive degeneration of nerve cells in the brain. Described by American physician George Huntington in 1872, the disorder has been widely studied in recent decades. Causes

Huntington's disease is caused by a genetic deficiency of a single gene on chromosome 4. This defect causes a piece of DNA, called the CAG sequence, to occur several times longer than it should. Typically, this sequence repeats 10 to 28 times. In people diagnosed with Huntington's disease, however, it recurs 36 to 120 times.

In addition, Huntington's disease is an autosomal dominant disorder, which means that a person needs only one copy of the defective gene to develop the disease.
