WARNING: THIS IS A CRINGY STORY I WROTE A FEW YEARS AGO. READ WITH CAUTION. (unfinished)

"Sometimes when she....." Mila began reading. She did this often enough that her mother was worried for her social life. "You're twenty three!" Her mother would always say. But Mila didn't care. If she was twenty three surly she could make her own decisions. Mila would come to the willow tree everyday. Whether it was reading or if she Just wanted to talk to someone. She didn't really have anyone to talk to besides her boyfriend. She found that this was her tree and nobody was going to take it away from her. I mean why would they it was just a stupid tree, but to Mila this "stupid tree" was the most beautiful thing she had ever seen.
Today was a reading day, just like every other Sunday. Mila sometimes questioned her sanity. She was always being pointed or stared at. And the thing that mad her most of all sad was the hateful nickname everybody called her, "Tree Hugger." Even though she did not like this name she didn't sought it for a second. She knew that this was true. She would hug a tree if it came to it especially the old evergreen. She loved that tree. If anything ever happened to it she would never be the same Mila Crawford.
Mila woke up and slipped on her brown knitted slippers, she walked to the kitchen and made herself some carmal coffee. The steamy mug pressed against her lips, she drew a long breath as she thought to herself how lucky she was to have Derik as her boyfriend. He would have done anything for her. Suddenly the smile on her face disappeared into a frown. She wondered why her and Derik were not at least living together. They had been together for six months now. "Shouldn't we be at least living together?" Mila thought to herself as she took another sip of her delicious coffee. She put down her favorite coffee mug with a thunk on the marble counter top. Mila slowly made her way to the door of her small house. As she opened up the door, Mila noticed how brilliantly lovely the sun shined on her silk robe. She walked to the mailbox with a smile on her face. As she squinted from the brightness of the sun she opened the mailbox and took out three envelopes and a magazine for Nature Monthly. One of the envelopes she pulled out and looked at with a wide grin on her face, it was addressed to her from none other than Derik.
"What a surprise!" Mila said to herself as she began to open it.
She read it aloud:
Dearest Mila,
I wanted to know if you could meet with me this afternoon. Meet me at the corner of Monroe St. At Pennero's Pizza. I have something very important to talk to you about. Please don't ask questions just meet me there at 5:40 sharp.
Love you,
Derik
Mila was confused. What was so important that he needed to meet with her about? Was he breaking up with her? Mila was nervous but she knew that if this was really important than she were to show up and wear something nice.
Mila was not really fond of dresses. Her mother was always trying to get her to wear them. She just didn't see how it was such a big deal. She decided that she would wear he best dress pants and her blue sheer blouse with her red pumps. She knew that was something that she was comfortable with. But the question was, will it be enough to please Derik.
Mila put on her clothes but realized she had a small tear in the back of her pants. She didn't know what to do because she only had sixteen minutes till she had to leave. With her pants being ripped she had no choice but to wear her blue jeans that were one size too small. Mila managed to squeeze into her pants. She now had 15 minutes to get her hair and make up done. Mila absolutely didn't want to be late. She managed to curl her hair and it looked fabulous, like she just stepped out of a salon! Mila grabbed her keys and swiftly moved towards the door where she stumbled in her six inch pumps. She opened up the door and jumped in.
