It had been a long day for Misty. Ever since Nan had brought her back from Hell, her powers hadn't been the same as they were before. For weeks after her return, she had been spending most of her time in the library or the greenhouse, trying to find something to help her restore her powers, to no avail. Today had been especially hard, she had spent most of the day in the greenhouse trying different potions and incantations to restore her powers. It wasn't easy work, it drained her both mentally and physically. When the sun started going down and Misty still hadn't come back to the house, Cordelia decided to go and get her. Pushing the door open, she saw Misty hunched over something on the desk, too focused on it to notice her girlfriend come in. Cordelia crossed the room to where Misty was sitting, peeking over her shoulder.
"What are you working on, honey?" Cordelia asked Misty, breaking the silence. Misty startled, not having felt her presence.
"Oh, it's just you, Delia. You scared me."
"Sorry Mist, I just came to check on you. What are you doing?"
With a heavy sigh, Misty responded
"Just reading. I'm trying to find something to help with my powers."
"You've been here all day, darling. Let's go make dinner."
Abandoning her spellbook, Misty followed Cordelia out of the greenhouse and into the kitchen.
"Alright honey, what are you hungry for?" Cordelia asked Misty. All she got was a shrug from her lover, who had sat down on one of the chairs. Suddenly, Cordelia had an idea. Going into the pantry, she collected various spices and seasonings, setting them on the counter before opening the fridge and pulling out a couple chicken breasts. From her seat at the table, Misty watched as her lover mixed the different spices in a bowl. Standing from her chair, she crossed the tiled floor to where Cordelia was now coating the pieces of chicken in the seasoning. Wrapping her arms around Cordelia's waist, she smiled.
"It smells amazing darling, thank you." She told the Supreme, recognizing it as her favorite meal. At these words, Cordelia turned in Misty's arms, looping her arms around her lover's neck, giving her a quick yet passionate peck on her lips. As Cordelia turned back around, Misty took her arms from around her waist and moved to help Cordelia prepare the food. They finished making dinner in silence, stealing kisses from one another. Once they had put the chicken in the oven, Cordelia finally broke the silence.
"Thank you, Mist."
"For what?"
"For doing this with me. I know you've had a lot going on lately, coming back from Hell and trying to restore your powers. I know how hard it can be. I'm so glad you're back, but you've been spending so much time working on this, and we haven't had much time together. I'm not mad at you for it, but from now on, what if we work on this together?"
At this last sentence, Misty's face broke into a wide grin.
"I'd love that."
Smiling back at her lover, Cordelia turned to get a glass of water. However, Misty grabbed her hand and turned Cordelia back to face her.
"I love you, Cordelia."
For a few moments, which seemed to be hours to Misty, Cordelia stared at her, in shock. Finally breaking the silence, Cordelia said "I love you too, honey."
At these words, Misty smiled and pulled her lover into a long, passionate kiss, catching Cordelia by surprise for a second, but she kissed her back, slipping her tongue into the other woman's mouth. When they finally pulled away, they pressed their foreheads together, both breathing heavily. Cordelia gave Misty one more quick kiss, before grabbing her hands and pulling them to their bedroom to finish what they started.
