"My return? The one you've been waiting for? What could you possibly mean? I have never seen you or been to that land ever." Cordelia protested.
"You don't recall?" the boy asked once more.
"No I do not."
"You saved us. Your power was incredible. I trust that you continue to use it?" the boy asked Cordelia.
"My power? How did you.."
Oliver stood beside her in wonder. He watched the boy press Cordelia with odd questions. Clearly there was a past. Oliver wondered if he was simply acting as if she had no memory.
In all honesty, Cordelia had not remembered this boy or the land. She didn't even know his name. However, he knew her curse. He knew what was hidden from the world. Why did he call it a power? All her life it had been called a curse and made her a disappointment.
"You used it to help us. Your power is the reason why Neverland is still standing. How could you not recall?" the boy asked sounding slightly offended and hurt.
"What is he talking about Cordelia?" Oliver interrupted with concern.
"I must explain. I'm sorry for not telling you earlier but my whole life this was hidden. I was shunned by my family and taken away from the public. You must believe I will never hurt you or anyone. I can control it now. I learned." Cordelia sighed as she turned to Oliver. She dreaded his reaction.
"Tell me Cordelia." Oliver insisted getting frustrated.
"I have a curse. Ever since I was born I have had magic. I can do all kinds. Telepathy, Control, whatever you like. However, when I was younger my emotions would make me uncontrollable. I would unintentionally hurt others. My parents' asked the elders what was wrong, and they explained that the women on my mother's side of our family had been cursed. Ever other child would be cursed with magical powers. My mother claims she knew nothing." Cordelia explained nervously.
Oliver stood in silence for a moment before stepping towards her. He placed a hand on her shoulder as if he wanted to console her worry. Cordelia looked up at him in confusion. Most of the people who knew about her condition had run from her and avoided her. She was almost concerned for his sanity by his reaction.
"You are not afraid of me?" Cordelia asked in confusion.
"No, I know you wouldn't hurt me and I trust you." Oliver responded calmly. He still had his hand on her shoulder and Cordelia couldn't make herself maintain eye contact. She looked at the ground nervously.
"It's good you have informed him. Now shall we go to Neverland? Are you ready?" The boy asked impatiently. He looked as if he was ready to grab them without consent.
"You haven't yet explained." Cordelia pressed uncertain. She did not know if she wanted to trust him anymore. He was telling her odd things that she had no knowledge of.
"I will explain when we arrive. We do not have much time" The boy said urgently.
Oliver nodded and gave her a look as if to let it go. Cordelia sighed in defeat and gathered her belongings. Oliver left her side and did the same. After she was sure she was ready, she gripped her bag tightly and the boy grabbed her hand and Oliver's, explaining it was necessary for transportation.
Cordelia decided to look around her surroundings one last time. If she could not come back or would not come back, she would like to remember where she came from. Where she escaped from. Suddenly she realized she did not know the strange boy's name.
"Wait, what is your name?" She asked as he looked around to confirm they were ready.
"Peter. Peter Pan" he replied with a smile, before he tightened his trip on them and whisked them off into the night air.
