March 1979
After a very successful stay in Switzerland, the group stayed behind and had some fun with their kids. This included Agnetha snow tubing with Christian for the first time and Benny unsuccessfully trying to get Fiona to ski for the first time. Speaking of skiing, Linda had so much fun going down the slopes and she was also happy because Lena wasn't there. She was six years old but she hated Lena with a burning passion. There was no doubt that Christian didn't like her either despite being 14 months old.
Now that they were back home, the group and Stig had been invited to dinner with King Carl Gustaf and Queen Silvia of Sweden. They had previously met the two Swedish monarchs nearly three years before on the night before their wedding in which they performed Dancing Queen for the very first time. It was fitting that they had performed that song on that occasion as Silvia had been marrying the King of Sweden and now the group were going to have a black tie dinner with the king and queen in a few days time.
But for now, they were at the studio as usual. Today was just a normal day for Agnetha, Björn, Benny, and Frida for the most part as the dinner was tonight but they still had to go to work despite that. Luckily, they were leaving early as a result as Frida and Agnetha still needed to get their hair and makeup done as well as their nails. Björn, on the other hand, was very excited about the dinner. After all, he was the son of a man who worked at a paper mill out of all places while Agnetha was the daughter of a woman who works at a supermarket and a man who works at a general store and had lived in poverty before becoming famous. It was a true rags to riches kind of story and Frida had a similar upbringing. And little did Frida know, she would become royalty herself in the years to come.
Frida and Queen Silvia were both very fond of one another but neither of them would expect to be good friends during those years to come. Of course, Silvia was also very fond of Benny, Björn, and Agnetha and was a true ABBA fan. She and her husband were both looking forward to their new album being released in the next couple of weeks overall. Either way, Björn was not only excited about mixing with royalty, but he was also excited about spending time with Agnetha. He was still dating Lena but he wasn't as fond of her as he was fond of Agnetha, who at this point was dating Lars.
And of course, Agnetha wasn't as fond of Lars as she was fond of Björn. Unlike Lena, Lars was a nice man and one of Sweden's best ice hockey players but she wasn't proving to be his type and this only made Agnetha devastated. She was still fond of Björn and she was happy that he still had feelings for her but at the same time, she knew he and Lena were together and their attempts at making things work were only because they were "friends" for the sake of their children. Lena, on the other hand, was an evil and vile woman and her evilness would affect Björn, Agnetha, and their family in the years to come.
For now, Agnetha and Björn were at Agnetha's house getting ready for the dinner with the king and queen. Björn had just finished changing into his white outfit and black jacket, which made him feel like a penguin as he hated wearing tuxedos and wasn't fond of black tie dinners as a result but he had to do what he had to do and this was also a once in a lifetime opportunity so he wanted to take advantage of it and make it right.
I look like a penguin wearing this.
I can't wait to get out of this damn tuxedo.
But hey at least it's gonna be worth it.
I'll be mingling with the king and queen while having my beloved Anna by my side.
Not that I still care for Lena though.
Oh dear God help me!
I'm a very conflicted man and I love two women with two very completely different personalities.
