Forsythe Pendleton Jones III, aka Jughead Jones, is a worker at a store in the town named Riverdale. It is right across the town diner, Pop's Chock'lit Shoppe. His father, FP Jones, is an alcoholic. He got addicted to drugs and alcohol when Jughead was only 5 years old. His mom had his sister when he was 4, but once his dad became abusive towards them, his mom picked up, with his sister, and left for Toledo, Ohio. He is 19 years old and fresh out of high school. He didn't have the time nor money to go to college. He barely has the money to support him and his father so he spends constant hours at the store, working. He doesn't mind it though because it's time away from his father. He has one friend, Archie Andrews, and his co-workers, Kevin Keller and Toni Topaz, but he's never had a girlfriend. Archie's dad has tried to take him in as much as possible.
Elizabeth Cooper, aka Betty Cooper, is a single college student who also has a 6 month old daughter, Harper Rose Cooper. She had a boyfriend, an abusive boyfriend, Chuck Clayton, that had raped her and gotten her pregnant at 17. That traumatic experience left her with depression, anxiety, and an eating disorder. Lucky for her, Harper looks exactly like her. Betty's mother and father have always forced her to be perfect. Her father was abusive and helped Chuck hurt her. After Betty had gotten pregnant, without even given the chance to explain, her parents kicked her out. Her best friend, Veronica Lodge, and her parents, took her and Harper in and gave them all the funds they needed. She is now 18 and Veronica's parents decided to move back to Riverdale.
