Everything's pretty much the same when I got home. My mom prepared my favorite food for dinner and that just completed my day. My dad is an overseas worker so he won't be home for another three months. My two brothers are still obnoxious as ever. They're four years younger than me and they're identical twins.
I also got to hang out with my high school classmates after such a long time. We caught up on a lot of things about each other. Every one of us has different stories of course. I told them all about what happened that academic year in FedU. We did a concert for the Christmas celebration and my team also got featured in one of the local channel news. There were also the bad days when I had to stay up for two nights just to finish a project and also some embarrassing ones like walking into the male's toilet.
I also told them about my encounter with Shane and as soon as I ended my story began teasing me.
"No way guys. Sure he was cute and all, but it's nothing like that!" I tell them.
It's been a week since I got home and I still didn't receive a single text or call from him. Well, it's not like I'm waiting for it or anything like that. It's just that, well...it's hard to get him out of my head...I guess. Those sea green eyes, they haunt me in my (sweet) dreams. I did say that he was my crush, but hey, not a serious one. Oh no! What if I seriously fall for that guy? Oh shucks. Tell me I'm crazy.
"Answer your phone you crazy woman!" then I suddenly hear one of my friends yell. I snap back to reality and look at them with a confused face.
Then another pointed to my phone which was ringing non-stop. "Oh!" I say and took my phone.
I see Shane calling. Great timing.
"Hey." I ansered. He said the same thing. I can see my friends looking so excited. I bet they looked at the name of the one who was calling before ressurecting me from my deep thoughts.
"Look, when are you free?" he suddenly said. That totally caught me off guard and it must've showed in my expression since my friends got even more excited. It took me a while to answer.
"Ah, uh...tomorrow is fine." I stammered.
"Good. I'll meet you at the new Cafe at XXXXX Street, 9AM, 'kay?" he said.
"Ah yeah. Sure." I replied without even thinking.
"Great! See you there Jul!" then he hangs up.
I put my phone down and look at my friends.
"That smile..." one of them points out my very wide smile.
"He just asked you out!! Oh my gosh!" another said.
All I can do was chuckle and laugh at what they said. It was true, and I felt so happy about it somehow. After that they offered to help me choose what I would wear for the date. A date? Was it really? Or is just me thinking too much? Get a grip Julia. We're not even close friends. This is just a friendly outing. That's it.
So, that whole afternoon I spent with my high school buddies in the mall looking for an outfit. I tried telling them that it was no big deal but they kept on insisting.
The next day I arrived a little bit late because my stupid brothers annoyed me to death during brekfast. You know how annoying it is when twins say annoying things at the same time? They's just so ugh!! I just hope Shane didn't get tired of waiting.
I walked towards the cafe with a lot of thoughts going on inside my mind. From the reflection of the glass walls I could see the outfit that my friends got me to wear. A cute flowy blose and high waist denim shorts paired with a cute sling bag and some doll shoes. Totally not me. I couldn't even recognize myself in these clothes. But I don't hate it. I kind of actually like it. I'm not much of a fashionista so I never really tried wearing these things.
