~Lyra woke slowly, enjoying the soreness that pulsated thru her body. That was an experience, her wolf nearly vibrated in happiness. Lyra shook her head as she sat up, stretching. She froze. Again? She looked around her and found herself once again alone and the damn ropes around her ankles this time. She growled low and tried to locate where the door was that had opened briefly the night before with no results. She didn’t even test the ropes, wondering why the change in placement. She sniffed the air, using all her senses to ensure she was alone this time. As far as she could tell, no other wolf was present. ~
~Jade had been awake for hours. Guards had arrived not long after he and the young wolf had fallen asleep and whisked her away from him. He would have fought harder had they not threatened to end her life and the life she may already be carrying. Curse his queen for using him this way. He continued to pace the dark cell, little Lyra’s scent all over, it was driving him mad. She may not be his, but he would be damned if anything happened to her now. He gave up pacing and sat back down in the bed he had built for two, his head in his hands as he waited ~
Vera turned from the glass mirror, both images disappearing, a smug smile on her face. Well that went better then she had expected. Who knew he would bend so easily to her will if she but offered him a virgin in heat, well former virgin. Her plan was coming together. She had a bargaining chip against her previous captain now. He was sure to do as she requested, breed her a new line of pups for her army, without much fuss. A knock sounded on her door and she nodded to her guard to open it.
“Queen Vera.” Her captain of the guard bowed at the door. She smiled and nodded her head at him, he entered and sat at her side.
“What is it Seamus?” He had recently taken over as captain after Jade had fallen short of his duties. Seamus was young, another hybrid, strong and loyal but not the bloodline she wanted to promote. His bloodline produced omegas not alphas and betas.
“The room is set up as you requested, all the females are in position.” She nodded and knew it was time to go talk to Jade and make the deal that would create her new army. She rose, Seamus following and leading her down to the dungeons.
Jade heard them before they got to the door, rising to his feet swiftly he was ready to greet whoever entered next. The lock turned and she was announced. Jade sighed and upon tradition and instinct dropped to a knee. Vera smirked as she entered, leaving Seamus outside, she waited for the door to close.
“You do look best on your knees Jade.” He bit back his growl, his history with the queen wasn’t the easiest, there was once a time he would have mated her if she hadn’t become the woman she was today. He stayed on his knee, head down to keep his reactions to himself. She slowly circled him, taking in his naked form.
“What brings you down to the dungeons Queenie.” She glared at him for the nickname and stopped in front of him.
“You act like I never visit prisoners.” He scoffed and just shook his head. “I am here to make a deal with you.”
“What could you offer me now that I haven’t already said no to before. I will not be your puppy-daddy.” She laughed at the horrible term, her eyes flashing in the dark.
“You seem so sure about that Jade. But if that’s how you want to play this, I guess I have no choice.” She turned her back and slowly walked back to the door. “She will just have to be put down then, or perhaps released to the workers……” His head snapped up and he snarled, knowing immediately who she was talking about.
“You wouldn’t. You are not that heartless.” She smiled as she turned back to her snarling hybrid.
“You made me heartless when you left. Never has a Beta walked away from their Queen, their Alpha. You will do as you were told. NO arguments this time. You complete your task and that little wolf won’t be harmed. In fact, you can have her once you’re done.” He hated her with every fiber of his soul, but his wolf panicked in his head, that little wolf couldn’t be harmed. Vera waited as she saw the conflict in his eyes, she knew he would cave sooner or later.
