'in the month of January'

i felt a lump in my throat as my mom was packing the car. i never though i would ever leave home, but i guess i was wrong. my mom got a promotion a few weeks ago meaning we have to move. i have no clue where we are going and every time i ask i get the same answer. "it's a surprise, don't worry you'll love it!" mom said, with a plaster grin going from ear to ear.

Texas was my home, my safe place. i had friends, family. basically everything a 16 year old would ever want in her teen life. i said my last goodbyes to my best friend breanna. "aww i'm gonna miss you so much tbear" breanna said, "me too, ughh i hope you can visit soon!" i said in a tone as if i was gonna cry. it was hard leaving everything and everyone i loved behind like this. breanna helped me pack the last few items i had laying around my room. it was nice getting some last laughs, and unforgettable memories together.  i walked out the door loading my car and giving breanna the last hug until next time. i felt a tear fall down my cheek as i slowly watch breanna and my old house fade.

16 hours later..
as we're entering our destination, i see a sign that reads: Welcome to Swellview

i look out the window and see a beautiful scenery. maybe that's why they call it Swellview? because it's pretty swell if you ask me. no? ok i'll stop. anyways maybe my mom was right. maybe i will like it here after all.

a few minutes later..

we arrived at our new house. it was very nice and such a beautiful neighborhood. i helped unload the car and unpacked everything we had. the truck with furniture arrived and we took everything out of there as well and started fixing up the house. when we finally finished i went up to my room and laid on my bed. i texted breanna.

brebear💛:hey tbear! that's good! i hope i can visit you sometime! i'm glad you're liking it so far! make sure to update me and tell me if you find any cute boys!

y/n: i know and i will! anyways i'll talk to you later! i'm probably going to look around or maybe go to sleep. but love you and miss you!💛
