Last year my grades in school weren't that great. So, my mom signed me up for summer school. The worst part is, I'm doing it at a new school. I'm literally not going to know anyone. Lexi and Cassie seemed like smart people so they probably won't have to attend summer school.
"Y/N! Wake up!" My mom yells.
I'm already awake. I'm just laying in bed.
"Mom said get up." Maya says as she barges into my room.
I roll my eyes but decide to get out of bed. She leaves my room and closes my door behind her. That's one of the things I like about Maya. She respects my privacy. Unlike my mom. She always goes through my things. She says it's because she loves me and wants me to be safe. It's so annoying.
I look in my closet and pull out an outfit to wear today.

After that I do my hair and makeup and then brush my teeth. Then I go get some breakfast. Maya is sitting on the couch watching The Vampire Diaries while eating cereal. I grab a bowl of fruit from the fridge and sit beside her on the couch. After I eat I grab my bag from my room. I then go outside, get on my bike and ride to school.
I take my time because I couldn't care less if I was late or not. Once I get there I park my bike and walk inside. I take out a paper that my mom gave me and check to see which room I'm supposed to go to. Room 382. I walk to the classroom and go in. Only three other people are there right now. A girl with short black hair, a girl with platinum blonde hair, and a regular looking boy. They are all on there phones. I sit in the back of the room two seats away from black haired girl, the other girl sat on her other side. The one next to me looks over and gives me a small smile. I give her a small smile back.
Just as I look away from her the blonde girl walks up to me.
"Hi. I'm Jules!" She says, extending her hand for me to shake.
"I'm Y/N" I respond, shaking her hand.
"Wait, your new here, aren't you?" The boy said from across the room.
"Yeah." I said shyly.
"Really?! I'm new too!" The blonde girl, or Jules, said.
A few other students had came in at that time. A few were staring at us. Jules then sat down in the seat between me and the black haired girls name.
"This is Kat by the way." Jules says.
"Hi. It's nice to meet you." Kat says.
Just then the teacher walks in. He tells us what our assignment is for the day and we all get to work. He took attendance and I learned that the boy that was in the room when I came in was named Nate. He seemed like a player so I was going to stay away from him. After I finished my work I turned it in to the teacher and grabbed my bag to leave. As I was picking my bag up, Jules lays a piece of paper on my desk. I pick it up and leave the room.
Once I get outside the school I look at the paper.
I looked at the number on the back and put it into my contacts, saved as 𝑗𝑢𝑙𝑒𝑠. She seems like a nice girl so maybe I'll text her later.
I get on my bike and ride home. I take the long way home so that I can take a look around the town. I passed through this neighborhood where I saw a girl sitting on her porch. She had really curly hair and she was kinda cute. I gave her a small smile while I rode past her house and then turned my head and kept riding.
When I got home I noticed that my mom was gone. She was probably at work or something. I went to Maya's room to see what she was doing. She was asleep so I decided to wake her up.
"Maya. Wake up. I'm lonely." I whispered while playing with her hair.
She groans a little but opens her eyes and wraps her arms around my waist. I laugh and then shake her a little.
"Get up." I say again.
"Fine, but only if you take me to Target." She sits up and lays her head on my shoulder.
I agree with her and then she gets up and gets ready to leave.
