I wake up to my alarm clock blaring Cruel Summer by Bananarama.
As my eyes flutter open and I'm surrounded by purple, more specifically the purple lights I have strung up around my walls and floor. I lay there in my bed, the soft cotton rubbing against my skin.

( Pay no mind to the laptop at the end of the bed and the modern Harley Quinn poster, this is 1994 after all.)
I wanted to lay there forever and just waste away, better than going to school and being bully and shunned and called ' Psychotic Utsagi', that's how it had been ever since that fateful night of October 31st, 1988 when I was just 10 years old.
I was born in Osaka on July 19th, 1978. I grew up in a beautiful neighborhood surrounded by friendly neighbors and cherry blossom trees. I had a sweet but overbearing mother, a very humble father, and the coolest big sister I could ask for, her name was Kotoko Utsagi and she was 7 years older than me having been born February 11th, 1971.
I loved Kotoko and she loved me, I looked up to her and tried to do everything she tried to do. And she'd always tell me I could do anything if I put my mind to it. She always protected me from assholes and would buy me treats, those were the good days...but then when I was 5 years old in 1983, we moved to Shadyside, Ohio and that's where our lives would change forever.
We moved to the USA in Shadyside, Ohio after my Dad got a promotion. Upon our arrival there however, we quickly learned that the town had a dark history. Apparently in 1666 a girl named Sarah Fier was hanged for witchcraft, and shortly after that almost every decade seemingly innocent people would just 'snap' with no explanation, and go on a murder spree killing a bunch of people before they themselves would end up dead. The most popular ones I know of were The Grifter, The Humpty Dumpty Killer, The Milkman Killer, Ruby Lane, The Camp Nightwing Killer. And then there were the most recent killers The Shadyside Mall Killer that happened last night and the one from 1988.....
...The Babysitter Slasher....it was my sister.
In 1987, my sister who was 16 at the time started babysitting local kids in the neighborhood. All of the kids loved her and she loved them, her dream was to find love and have a whole bunch of kids...which is why...I can't understand why my sister would-
On October 31st, 1988, my sister suddenly 'snapped' while babysitting some kids three blocks over from our house, she grabbed a kitchen knife out of the drawer and proceeded to brutally slaughter the children stabbing and cutting them up. And as if that wasn't terrible enough, she then proceeded to go outside in that neighborhood slaughtering any unlucky child that crossed her path, and seeing as to how it was Halloween, there were many children out that night.
That night, I had been trick or treating with some friends from school, and we were one block over from where my sister was causing carnage and as we were having fun, we started hearing a whole bunch of screaming and so my friends, some adults, and I ran over to the next street.
And the first thing I saw when I got there was my sister holding a small child down in the middle of the street stabbing her. I instantly ran over to her in order to stop her but she tackled me and tried to stab me, and as I fought and struggled with my dear sister, I was able to see her eyes....they weren't the eyes I knew, my sister's eyes were soft and full of life...but the eyes that stared back at me that night were cold and dead, it was as if there was no visible trace of my sister left.
She managed to slice open the palm of my left hand which would later leave a permanent scar, before she was ultimately gunned down by Sheriff Nick Goode. I remember her being shot, I remember her blood splattering on me, I remember her corpse falling on top of me...I remember screaming and crying once the realization finally hit me that my sister was dead.
When it was all said and done, it was revealed that all together my sister had murdered 16 children ranging from ages 3 mons to 11 years, and had seriously injured 5 kids myself included. After that night she became known as The Babysitter Slasher another Shadyside Killer with a high body count.
After that, all the neighbors looked at my family and I with disgust, all of the families whose children were unfortunate enough to come face to face with my sister that night hated us, so much so that we started getting death threats and people being racist telling us to go back to China even though we were from Japan.
My parents were never the same after what my sister had done, my father started drinking and eventually committed suicide by a gunshot to the head, and after that my mother lost her mind and forgot I existed, before she hung herself in the basement. I was 12 at the time and so I was put into foster care, I had about 5 foster families before I was permanently taken in by a family of three, a woman, her husband, and their son who was my age.
And so for the last 6 years I've struggled to return to living normally. All of my family, my sister and my parents are dead and I'm stuck picking up the broken pieces of my heart.
I suffer from depression and ptsd, every where I go in this town I'm judged. People strongly believe that I'll end up like my sister, going crazy and killing a bunch of people just so that I could end up in the " Shadyside Serial Killer Hall of Fame".
So...do I believe that this town is cursed and that my sister was possessed by something?
Absolutely.
My sister was the kindest, sweetest, most generous person you'd ever meet. You expect me to believe that my sister, who wanted nothing more than to be a mother would just decide out of the blue to murder a bunch of small children for no good reason.
