under the roots of the willow tree

prologue

I turn on the TV to the news channel. I was wanting to watch the weather forecast but only wild fire reports and recent robberies cases where on. I was about to turn off the TV when a breaking news title flashed on the screen, the head line read girl gone missing in the park. I was interested so I listen to the summery of it, a girl was walking in the park with some friends when out of nowhere a cherry smell came from the ground near some tree roots and the girl disappeared. Weird how in the world could someone next to you just disappear when u smelled cherries. I wanted to know more but commercials came on, so I went to the kitchen to find some food. I searched the empty pantry hoping for something good to appear. When I gave up I decided a coke was good enough. I heard from the living room a the breaking news tune. I walked back in as one more commercial pops up.
"Jak,Jak, I need some help, pls?" My sister hollered at me. "Hold on," I yelled to her, just then the headline flashed on to the screen. I stood there as the reporter re summarized what happened, finally they got to reviling the name. When the girls name popped up i dropped my coke on the floor in shock.
