Ashton

One moment everything had been okay and I was still functioning like everybody else. Then it was almost like there was a magical switch that had been flipped in my mind. Everything moved so slowly now, and I couldn't bring myself to climb out of bed. All I needed was sleep.

There had been maybe a total of six or seven prefects that checked on me today, wondering why I hadn't turned up to my classes. Each on sighed and tried to get me to leave my bed, but I guess that confidentiality is just not a thing for any submissive, and everybody got to know my mental state. It wasn't until Calum got back that I got out of bed. Still, despite being out of bed now, I couldn't keep my focus on anything. Calum was great at helping me with everything until Michael got back and starting hitting and kicking things.
"I'll eat. You go help him." I mumble, picking at the food on my plate and really wishing that my Step-Dad was here. He had always known what to say. "Can I use your laptop, though?"
  "Su— Mikey, stop it! Sure."

I wrap my blanket around myself whilst I waited for him to answer the call like the covers were somehow going to protect me from all of the bad thoughts and even worse feelings. For a while, the blankets could protect me from myself.
"Dad," I whisper, glad to see him.
"Hi, bud. Everything alright over there?" I look away from the screen and shake my head. It really pained me to admit it, just like it always had. It made me feel weak, that I couldn't control my emotions well enough and I couldn't force myself out of my own bed. I'm already deemed worthless by half of society, I didn't need to be weak too. "I had a call from the school today. You're doing great in classes, and your meds will be completely available to you by tomorrow morning. I know that you don't like talking about this, but I want you to know that you have the option. It's always open with me." I nod and went to say something, but he looked like he had a light bulb moment. "Oh, and they're allowing me to come and visit you soon."
"I wanna see you as soon as possible."
"I know, bud. They only delayed the visits so you could get settled. How is it there?"
"I like it. Some of the dominants aren't very nice but I know a lot of good people. They're really nice." he nods and smiles.
"I'm glad to hear it. Have you eaten today?"
"My friend got me out of bed to eat and shower and stuff." Calum looked over and smiled, still holding Michael away from the walls. Suddenly, my Dad looked concerned. It wasn't a look he got often, so it was the most noticeable.
"What is going on in there?"
"One of our prefects is just a little stressed out at something and tried taking it out on a wall." Luke sat next to me at that, laying his head in my lap and watching the laptop screen. My Dad smiled and waved hello, making Luke go red and shy away from the screen a little after saying it back. Things seemed to calm down, and Calum sat behind Luke and me with a smile.
"That's the prefect that showed you around, right?"
"Oh, I'm just a switch pre—"
"You're still a prefect nonetheless. Don't listen to people who tell you otherwise." Calum nodded and hugged my waist, pressing his forehead against my shoulder as I spoke to my Dad. I still couldn't get over how Mikey had just gone to bed, though.

I hadn't realised how long it had been, but I felt a little better by the time the call ended. I'd really needed it. Calum had held onto my waist almost the entire time since his head was still all over the place and Mikey hadn't gotten out of bed. By the time the call had finished, he had fallen to sleep. I push Luke over to him a little, letting them both settle again before getting out of bed and sitting next to Mikey. It was easy to tell that he hadn't even been asleep.
"What's wrong?" I whispered, resting my chin on his shoulder.
  "Are they asleep?"
"Snoring." he nods and sits up, pulling me onto his lap as he watches the others for a minute.   "What's up?"
"Sometimes, when I can't control a situation that I should be able to control, I feel a bit useless as a whole, but mostly as a dominant," he whispers. I nod and unbutton his shirt quietly. "I know that I shouldn't react how I have, I just needed some room to think."
"I think that you're great. You care and you fight for Calum. Even me and Luke, and we don't know each-other that well. Not as well as you and him, anyway." he nods and smiles. "Where's everyone else?"
"Sleepover in another dorm. We've been having too much sex for them to stay apparently."
