It was your first day of second grade. Your mom made you bacon and pancakes with whipped cream on top ( which was totally your favorite) and you were getting ready to leave the house. You and your mom were walking to the car as normal when she stopped and said, " y/n, a new family moved in next door and i think the boy is around your age, you should try to make friends with him." You just shrugged and got in your car seat and waited to be buckled up.
You got to school and met your teacher, you thought she was nice. She told all the students to sit down on the carpet mat in the middle of the room. You walked over to the rug and sat down. A boy sits down next to you and you recognize him as your new neighbor. You are pretty shy but you listened to your moms words and decided to talk to him. "Hey! i'm y/n, your neighbor, wanna be friends?" you said. The boy looks at you and he almost looks confused. He sat there staring at you then all of the sudden he says "no you look weird." then got up and moved over to sit next to one of the boys in the class. In that moment you decided you hated him.
As the years went on it seemed like everything he did was to hurt your feelings. Your parents became friends so he was always at your house and your windows were across from each other so you could see him all the time. You got a couple friends over the years but he never seemed to really have any. A part of you felt bad for him for some reason, but the way he treats you makes you want to not. Sometimes you catch yourself staring at him and you don't really know why , I mean he's definitely nice to look at but you wonder after everything he's done to you why you even waste your time.
