The sunless sky covered the woods over the treetops which created a canopy over her head. The crimson and auburn foliage was a magnificent sight. There was a gentle breeze, making the single sound of rustling leaves. The leaves appeared as though they were dying to fall out of the tree and join their companions on the forest floor. Together with pine needles and other flora, the leaves formed a thick springy carpet for her to walk upon.
During her training, an interruption ensued when a subordinate of lower rank, seemingly dispatched specifically for the purpose, sought her attention.
Despite her small appearance, she was the demon's favorite human child. Passionate as fire and Calm as a whisper she is, her powerful aura dangerous and unpredictable was feared and admired by those around her.
Entering the building as if she owned the place, her boots sounded throughout the hallway alarming those to give way for her.
Creek
"Took you long enough."
"Why was it deemed necessary to summon me in the middle of the night with such urgency?"
"so I could inform you that you are assigned with yet another mission to fulfill,"
"And what makes you think that I'll follow your orders this time?" she questioned, her voice laced with defiance.
"While the Mama of the plantation may have managed them thus far, I have a distinct purpose in mind, a task that only you possess the ability to accomplish," he admitted with a weary sigh.
"Just cut to the chase, Ratri" she demanded, her tone sharpened with impatience.
"I require you to establish camaraderie with the children residing there, particularly the most intellectually astute among them," he confessed "Those children differ greatly from any others, as they may very well be the epitome of brilliance compared to those inhabiting other plantations."
"Ah, so this is merely another one of your sadistic experiments," she mused, her words dripping with contempt.
"Sharp as ever" he acknowledged with a touch of admiration.
"Currently, the situation in lambda is regrettably insufficient... And we'll be needing incipient cattle to experiment with. One who will be vigorous enough to endure the pain we'll be evicting it to, in order to mass produce better quality meat, for the purpose of the experiment, we'll require them alive."
"Basically, I'll be ensuring the seamless delivery of the designated livestock into your possession, devoid of any disruptions or complications?" she enunciated with a touch of lividness in her voice.
"Correct. I'll be sending you there soon."
And with that, she wasted no time departing the frigid, oppressive room, never truly relishing the exchanges she shared with him.
