❝River of Sorrow❞

◾◾◾

You regret a lot of things and agreeing to do the project with them tops the list.

"C'mon (Y/n), please just one photo—" Kai begged while clinging to you.

"No, shut up. Stop being annoying" you spat, a bit flustered as to why he would want to take a photo of you

He whined in annoyance

"Looks like someone needs a happy meal" Ace sarcastically stated, approaching you with a camera in his hand and a soft smile plastered on his face.

"Finally, you're here. At least tell me if you're gonna be late, I should have taken my time getting ready than being stuck with this idiot" you irritatingly said while rolling your eyes and pointing your thumb at the idiot beside you.

"But I just want one photo. Pretty please" his eyes sparkled, you could have sworn you saw dolphins and angels in there, but this isn't the time, (Y/n)

"Those pretty-boy eyes won't work on me" you sternly said looking at him in the eye.

"Did you just call me pretty?" after hearing those words, His red eyes lit up instantly and he was now leaning a bit too close for you, you held up your hands stopping him from moving closer.

"No, that's not the point—" you defended, eyebrows furrowed Irritated from his childish actions.

Unbeknownst to both of you, Ace took a photo of you two bickering, in a position that he doesn't quite approve of but it's a cute photo, so he decided to keep it.

"Sachi's not coming?"

"Yeah, she texted me earlier that she had to go somewhere with her mom"

"Then let's get going"

The three of you proceeded to go to the place Kai 'knew', the walk was peaceful. Moments like this are one of the things that kept you going, you truly appreciate the beauty around you noticing how the wind was blowing quite wonderfully, a carpet of fine evergreen needles covered the forest floor perfuming the clearing with a pungent yet sweet scent, birds chirping to a familiar melody—

Hmm, Familiar?

You gaze up at the tree branches looking for a sign of a living thing yet found none.

It's this weird melody again and you don't think it's going away anytime soon.

Finally, about half an hour later of further walking, you arrived at your destination.

You lifted your face, letting the light and shadow dance across your skin. The wind hummed in and out making your (h/l) hair sway in a beat. You inhaled its earthy smell and continued, delighting in the sound of your feet sliding through the leaves. You continued your way to the wooden planks and gaze at the blue crystalline stream, flickering like glitter on the surface.
