You didn't remember what happened after.
Everything went by vaguely.
The strange looks of the passers-by as you rushed through the downpour. The tears cascading down your face, muffled by the loud thunder. Without a destination in mind, you just ran. Ran and ran.
Away from your loved one.
Away from the damn red thread of fate.
Away from your supposedly happy ending.
To hell with them.
Before you could process your array of thoughts nor your swirling emotions, you reached the Han river. The stream flowing by in harmony that somewhat offered you peace and quiet.
There were no one, probably due to the ongoing drizzle.
With the expensive dress drenched, the perfect make-up ruined, the watch he gifted you last year now probably broken, you stared at the night sky with serenity. The rain had washed the dust away, revealing a series of stars illuminating the night.
After a while, you let out a weak sigh.
Leaning against the rail, you collected your thoughts slowly.
As much as you wanted to get mad at your so-called soulmate that broke your heart, you didn't seem to find the heart to blame him. Or the strength to.
Feigning ignorance and relying on some kind of miracle were the favourite thing of yours. If only they worked.
Behind the pretentious smiles and clueless façade, you knew he had been seeing someone behind your back. Your best friend, nonetheless. How ironic all of these were.
Called yourself as naïve or too kind-hearted, but you were never the one to force people in doing what you want. Forcing him to love you and only you in this case. Though you had the right to do that. The society would be fumed if they knew this story and would attack him mercilessly.
A person who chose someone else over his very own soulmate?
You were basically opposing the way of life, dear lad.
But there's always a part of the community that rebelled against the idea of soulmates, so it's not really a new issue.
What even was this flower for?
Your soulmate had left you for someone else.
At least, the stars chose you to see them unraveled their beauty tonight.
