Birthday

I wake up next to Vinnie his arms around my waist. He looked so pretty when he sleeped. Today was my birthday and I wasn't sure what we were gonna do but I thought maybe me and Vinnie could spend some time together.

"Morning princess" he says as I stare into his deep hazel eyes. "Morning vinegar" I say as I put my hand on his cheek leaning in to kiss him. "I need to go take a shower" he says getting up. "Ok" I say as he leaves bed and gets into the shower.

No happy birthday really.

Well ok then.

I get up and start to get ready putting my outfit on. I go down to the kitchen pouring cereal in and then milk in the bowl. I sit down and start eating scrolling through tiktok. As I'm eating I see Vinnie walk down with his wet hair. "So what you doing today?" I ask Vinnie. "Just hanging out with the guys" he replies as he opens the fridge grabbing eggs.

Hanging with the boys, what about me.

"Oh cool" I say my heart breaks. He really is just hanging out with the guys. He pours his eggs onto a plate and begins eating. I put my plates and make my way back upstairs.

"Bye babe!" I hear Vinnie shout as the door shuts. I lay in bed no energy to do anything just scrolling. About 20 minutes later I think. Shopping? Nails? Hair? Maybe Vinnie will notice.

I grab my keys and leave getting in my car and driving. As I enter the mall I decide to get some new clothes first. I tap my card as I walk out and go to the nail salon. The nail tech was pretty nice and after a while I get up pay and head to the hair salon.

I get my hair done just freshen it up not anything too different. Finally once I get home I put some makeup on and wait for Vinnie.

1 hour later:

"Hey babe I'm home!" He says as I walk downstairs. "Hi" I say expecting him to comment on how I look. "So um there's this party tonight" he says.

Seriously a party. He didn't even say anything.

"Oh that's cool" I say. "Yeah I was thinking to go I was just gonna change you can join if you want" he says. "Um no it's fine have fun" I say restraining the urge to cry. "Thanks babe" he says kissing my cheek as he heads up.

He soon leave and yet again I roll in my bed crying and crying. How could he forget. He ditched me for a party. A stupid party. Asswipe.

A couple hours later it's 12am Vinnie still not home. I hear a knock the door and walk down. My hair was a mess my eyes and face red and I was in a t shirt way to big for me and biker shorts.

I open the door revealing reggie, vinnies mom and vinnies dad. "Oh hey sweetie we didn't mean to come late our plain was delayed we came for your birthday sorry if we woke you and Vinnie" Maria says. "No no it's fine I wasn't sleeping come in" I say as they enter.

We all sit on the couch. "You really didn't have to come" I say. "Nonsense you're always there for us for Vinnie and I'm so grateful for that you really had a good impact on him before you he was terrible never came out of his room" Maria says. "Yeah so um where is Vinnie" reggie asks. "At a party" I say.

"On your birthday?" Nate asks. "Yeah you see first he went out skating with the guys and he didn't say anything about my birthday so I went to the mall I got a new outfit my nails down my hair and makeup. But when I got home and Vinnie came he didn't notice all he said was I'm going to a party. He left and I've basically been crying and eating and watching Netflix in my bed" I say.

"Oh sweetie I'm so sorry I don't know why vinnies like that I can't believe he forgot" Maria says. "It's fine I mean I got myself a cake blew out the candles do you guys want some there's still some left" I say. "Yeah thanks" reggie says.

I enter the kitchen returning with three slices of cake handing them the plates with their forks. "You know what let me call him" Maria says.

"Vincent Cole hacker you better get your ass home right now I don't care what you're doing where you are now!" She yells threw the phone.

We talk for a while in general and 30 minutes later the door opens and Vinnie walks in. "Oh you guys got cake can I have some" he asks walking sitting next to me on the couch. "No dickhead maybe if you were there when I blew out my candles you could of" I said.

"Oh shit! Shit shit shit! Omg baby I'm so sorry I forgot I didn't mean to I'm so so sorry" he says. "Yeah well too bad I tried everything to get you to notice and you didn't fuck you Vinnie" I say crying. "I'm sorry I can't be here" I say to Vinnie family as I walk out grabbing my keys.

I drive and drive hours I go to a parking lot and park there just crying listening to Olivia rodrigo and it was pouring. Whenever vinnies family came over they stayed in the two spare guest bedrooms.

I felt so bad and embarrassed. God knows how long I've been here and how many miss calls and texts I have.

I check the time seeing it was 3:48 in the morning. I should probably drive back.

I start the car driving and as I get there I park. I walk out unlocking the door walking in to see a worried Vinnie there. The rest probably went to sleep long flight.

"Baby omg I'm so glad you're back I was worried" he says. "Pff yeah sure" I say sarcastically. "Really look what I did wasn't right I had a lot on my mind and I know that's no right excuse it's just with the match and with the social media and everything getting stuck between that I, I felt like a bad boyfriend and didn't know how to fix that" he says. "Vinnie. You aren't a bad boyfriend you're the best and it's ok to be stressed to feel not ok. Sometimes you need breaks and that's fine. You can tell me i don't mind do what's best for you ok and I will help you no matter what I can it's fine just please Vinnie talk to me you know I love you" I say. "I know thank you baby and I hope tomorrow we can celebrate all together I love you and I'm so glad you were born princess thanks for being mine and putting up with my shit" he says. "Anytime asshole" I say smiling as we walk up going into bed.
