The Charm's Classroom, Hogwarts School, Great Scotland, 31st October, 1991, 11:34am.
Perhaps with all the lessons and homework, Celestia could hardly believe that she had at Hogwarts for two months. The castle felt more like home than the Orphanage ever had, excluding her big window, which she sat on while gazing the stars. Her lessons, too, were becoming more and more interesting now that they had mastered the basics.
On Halloween morning they woke to the delicious smell of baking pumpkin wafting through the corridors. Even better, Professor Flitwick announced in Charms that he thought they were ready to start making objects fly, something they had all been dying to try since they'd seen him make Neville's toad zoom around the classroom. Professor Flitwick put the class into pairs to practice. Celestia was partnered with Neville Longbottom, who looked as if he would sitting with anyone else than her. Ron Weasley was partnered with Hermione Granger (much to Ron's displeasure), while Harry Potter was partnered with Seamus Finnigan.
"Wingard Levisa!" said Seamus, as he flicked his wand in a very fancy sort of way.
BOOM!
Seamus' feather, which was what they were supposed to practice with, burst into flames. Sighing, Professor Flitwick flicked his wand, and the burnt feather vanished.
"Wigardium Leviosa!" said Celestia, swishing her wand in hopes of the feather moving. The feather twitched, and then, it slowly rose four feet above her head.
"Oh, well done!" cried Professor Flitwick, clapping. "Everyone see here, Miss Holmes has done it!"
Hermione, whose feather was the second one to fly up, and along with Ron (for different reasons), were very disappointed by the end of the class.
"It's no wonder no one can stand her," Ron talked about Hermione to Harry as they pushed their way into the crowded corridor, "she's a nightmare, honestly." Celestia, who was walking behind them, got pushed back by someone. And it was Hermione.
Celestia caught a glimpse of her face, and was startled to see she was crying. Hermione bumped into Harry, too.
"I think she heard you." he said.
"So did I." said Celestia, moving in the front so she could face them. "That was very mean thing to say, Weasley." She had to fight the urge to not whip out her wand. Even though she was not friends with Hermione, what Ron had said was still very mean.
"So?" said Ron, but he looked a bit uncomfortable. "She must've noticed she's got no friends. So should you, Holmes." Harry was starting to look very uncomfortable, too.
