*Julian's pov*

It hurt seeing him have a terrible break down in the bathroom at school. But now, it pinched my heart to see that I couldn't do anything much but stand there and watch as his body seized on the kitchen floor.

It hurt even more to see the blood oozing out of his nose and down his luscious lips, trailing underneath his chin.

Even worse, it pained me to know that I wanted to drain his blood from his body. But I knew better.

I wouldn't hurt my mate.

He is someone I am bound to be with and to protect no matter what. I've been waiting years for my mate to come and now I've finally found him. He is absolutely beautiful but with an ugly past.

I can't say I know what it is he's gone through but I do know that he is terribly hurt.

I'm afraid that'll hell reject me because of who I am.

I've seen many vampires get rejected from their human mate and live a terrible eternity. Some even killed themselves.

But no, I'm going to make him accept me by seeing that I'm not as dangerous as I seem, that I'm not going to hurt him.

Kaidence is the definition of an angel. I glanced over at him from the corner of my eyes, staring at his beauty. His light blonde locks curled slightly at the ends, touching the middle of his neck. Those blue and grey orbs were empty yet so full of pain. His pale porcelain
skin couldn't even be compared to a doll as it looked so much smoother and clear.

His eyes flickered towards me for a second before he looked away with a slight blush. He's absolutely adorable.

"Julian, can I talk to you for a minute?" I looked up at Xavier who was standing up and walking into the kitchen.

I quickly followed him, feeling the others eyes on my back, watching my every move. I leaned on the wall once I entered the kitchen.

"You're staring at Kaidence." I nodded in response.

"I am indeed." He smirked, his eyes sparkling in the light.

His smirk grew a bit more. "He's your mate isn't he?"

I nodded and smiled softly, looking back into the living room watching Kaidence as he leaned back, yawning.

"Congrats." Xavier clasped my shoulder. I grinned but it was quickly wiped away at his next expression.

"What?" I said.

His lips were in a thin line. He was quiet for a bit before he spoke up. "He was having a vision."

I nodded. "I know."

"We need to get him to tell us but he doesn't fucking talk." Xavier sighed and ran a slightly tanned hand down his face.

I nibbled on my lip carefully, trying not to cut my lip with my fangs. I then sighed when I came up with nothing.

Xavier stormed out with a frustrated look and I quickly followed.

"Kaidence!" My mate jumped up at Xavier's tone and gripped the end of his shirt.

I grabbed Xavier's shoulder and spun him around. "You're scaring my mate." I growled quietly. His face softened and he apologized.

Kaidence still looked like a deer caught in headlights. "Kaidence, we.." Xavier sighed. "Nevermind."

The light blonde boy rolled his eyes and got up, walking passed us. I heard his footsteps marching upstairs before a door slammed closed.

"I KNEW IT!" Dolton shouted making us all jump.

"What the actual fuck?" I said. "Must you be so-"

"HE'S YOUR-"

I slapped a hand over Dolton's mouth, glaring at him. "Shut up and the answer is yes. He's my mate. So you all better fuck off." I pulled away.

Landon stifled a laugh. "He's all yours bud." I smirked and sat on the couch.

"Damn right."

Xavier knew that I didn't want to leave, especially since I just found my mate. He let me spend the night and lucky for me, the guest room was right beside Kaidence's rooms.

I didn't want to sound creepy, but I was hoping to sneak into his room to check on him. And okay, to maybe take admiration of his appearance too. If you were me, you'd do the same. But most importantly to make sure he's safe.

If anything happens to my mate I will shred whoever hurt him into shreds.

I got up with a yawn, making my way into Xavier's room. I grabbed a blood bag from his mini fridge and walked out as he slept quietly.

It was almost two in the morning and I wasn't that tired at all. I was just too excited that I found the love of my life.

I punctured the bag with my fangs and drank from it heavily as the metallic yet sweet taste slid down my throat.

I wonder how my mate tasted like.

Just thinking about it makes my fangs throb and my crotch tighten. I really shouldn't be thinking about this but damn, who wouldn't if that was their mate? But he's mine and only mine.

I threw out the blood bag and quietly made my way into Kaidence's bedroom. He was sleeping soundlessly under his black duvet. Approaching him, I noticed how peaceful and calm was his face was. I couldn't help but let the back of my hand caress his soft cheek and instantly I felt the tiny sparks which put a smile on my face.

He groaned lightly, turning around so his back was facing me now. I pouted slightly at that but nonetheless left his room to let him sleep.

With that, I crawled back into the guest bed and dozed off dreaming about my mate.
