I just called to say I hate you

Nora was sitting on her bed watching a video before suddenly she got a call from her grandpa Ed Dearest  “oh hey grandpa, what is it?” an odd-sounding voice came from the other side shakier than confident like he usually was.

“I-i got you a..some passes for a new restaurant in your city opening today....think of it as an early birthday present,” the old man said across the line his breathing getting more panicked, the sound of something dropping on the floor.
“Hey, grandpa did you drop something?” Nora asked now slightly more curious

“o-oh uh, something fell from a shelf i-i'll pick it up later m-my l-o I mean Nora t-the restaurant o-opens n-next week...i..I love you Nora” Ed’s shaky voice was able to blurt out before the call disconnected the conversation cutting it short.

Nora was confused by why her grandpa was so sad? She sighed changing her messaging app to the top of her contact list, was boyfriend tapping onto it she informed him about the invite telling him about the spot of their date.’

A week later it was a cold Friday afternoon the boyfriend also known as jack had visited the restaurant it looked amazing its color scheme being white and gold all over still waiting for Nora with his white Shirt baggy blue pants

The restaurants label was big and proud on the front Brotherhood and Co Steakhouse
as the boyfriend waited he was usually expecting a limo to arrive carrying Nora‚ however he was surprised when all of suddenly Nora jumped on him giving him a tight hug.

"Hey! Jack pretty fancy looking place huh?"

"shouldn't probably be used to going to places like this?" Bf said

"Well nowhere like this I garentee you" The gf responded pointing to the door
"It's weird no one else was here probably a pretty exclusive place"
