Just A Roomate [DISCONTINUED]

Chapter 8.

Jase and I finally arrived at the diner. I was craving pancakes and my head hurt. What an awesome combination.

We got out of the car, me almost tripping over my own feet before Jase rushed over and caught me. We were happily greeted by a girl named lauri, Laura, as we walked in.I couldn't quite read at the moment, but we took a seat in a nearby booth and I immediately picked up the menu. I heard Jase chuckle and pick up his own menu.

I looked up to find him smiling widely. I set my menu down,wanting to know what was so funny.

"Why are you smiling?" I asked and he looked up at me through his eyelashes.

"You were just eager, that's all"

"A girls got to eat, too, Ya know?" I laughed and so did he with a little nod.

Before anyone could day anything, lauri or Laura stopped at our table.

"Hello, I'm Lauren your guys'waiter. May I get you guys drinks? She asks, a dimple popping out from her smile.

"Do you think we could possibly order our food as well?" I asked. I heard Jase chuckle and I kicked him in the shin lightly. He mumbled an 'ow' before the waitress piped in.

"Of course" Lauren smiled down at us.

After ordering our meals, Jase announced he had to take a piss which made me laugh uncontrollably for some reason. He muttered something to lauri, Lauren, before walking off into the restroom. I watched as Lauren grabbed our drinks and begin to walk back over to our table.

'There Ya go" she set down our drinks.

"Thank you" I nodded and took a sip of my sprite.

Catching me completely off guard, Lauren sat across from me, in Jases' seat to be specific.

"Your friend back there told me to keep an eye on you" she laughed grabbing a pink sugar packett from the bin.

"Does he think I'm two?" I blurted out and Lauren just smiled at me from the other side of the booth.

"Are you okay?" she asked, "I'm sorry if I'm intruding in on personal business or anything, just thought I'd ask."

"Its fine really and to be honest" I sighed, " I'm not ok-". I was cut short when a random bell was rung by the chef. Lauren blushed a bit before apologizing to me while standing to Get our food, seeing Jase and I are the only customers.

I slumped in my seat like a six year old. I actually was looking forward to talking about my problems and mishaps with Lauren. Possibly even my love triangle with my ex and roommate. I heard it's best to talk about your problems with a stranger. Sure they'll judge, but they don't know you like your Freinds and family do,you won't see them everyday. Plus it'd be straight up wrong to talk about what happend tonight with my ex. The way I felt so sad and hopeless when I saw Cameron kissing Erin.

Jase walked out of the restroom, patting wet hands on his dark jeans. He slid in his side of the booth grabbing his water. He's such a health freak, always been one too. Lauren walked back with our plates of food,Mine stacked with pancakes, Jases' covered with biscuits and gravy.

Lauren set our plates down and smiled awkwardly at me, probably because of our unfinished conversation,maybe? She avoided us as much as possible, the only exception when Jase called her over politely to refill our drinks. Even then it was an awkward atmosphere, as well.

Thirty minutes later Jase and I stood up from the booth, after our nonstop talking and small breaks from taking bites of our food. We talked about anything we wanted to, but not about what happend. I was happy that he decided to lay low with asking about tonight, it made me smile in the end. He made a few comments and gestures towards the subject,but nothing major.I actually had forgotten about that for a little while until Jase put Laurens tip money on the table.

The cold air outside blew harshly, pushing my hair back and slightly drying my eyes. Jase opened my side of the door before rushing over to the drivers seat.

"Thank you". My voice was barely audible, Just enough for him to hear though.

"It was no problem, really" he smiled. His wrist hung over the staring wheel as he effortlessly took turns down a street. It was quite in the car except for the small sound coming from the radio. It was a comfortable silence, not tention filled or anything, just peaceful and soothing.

In no time, the car tugged to a stop, sending my body forward slightly.

"Sorry" Jase muttered putting his car in park. I laughed and recognized we were in my apartment complex. "Do you want Me to walk you up there?" he pointed in the direction to my apartment door.

"No its fine. I think I can walk properly now" I smiled opening the door. Just before shutting it, I said thank you one last time before I left.

I walked up the steps and stood on my tippy toes once I got to the door, trying to find the key we hid up there, But before I could find any, the door opened revealing Cameron as he pulled me inside.

"Oh my god, Samantha. Where have you been?" Katie came running towards me arms all big and wide, pulling me in for a big hug.

"Out" I whispered, not in the mood to talk to anyone in this house right now. Cameron just stared at me as Katie continued to hug me, but I wrenched her off me, taking a few steps back.

"I'm sorry, Samantha" Cameron said. "I saw your missed calls, and I'm really sorry. I know I promised-"

"To anwer my phone calls at anytime tonight, yeah" I chuckled turning around to head into my room.

"Can we, like, talk maybe? Tell me what happened tonight" Cameron called and I turned around.

"Its handled now. Someone else was there for me, like you guys weren't" I glared at Cameron and Katie, the two standing next to each other. I wasn't so mad at Katie like I was Cameron. He'd promised and even though my problem wasn't as big as it could've been, he still had promised.

"Someone as in Jase?" He scoffed rolling his eyes.

"Excatly". I bit back, wanting to So badly slap him but my mind decided against the harsh behavior.

My jaw dropped at the next few moments that followed. Out came Erin from the kitchen, wrapping her hands around Cameron's waist, lingering behind him.

"Is everything okay?" she asks. I fought back the urge to scream at Cameron, at everyone for that matter.

"Just dandy" I replied, stomping off into my room, Katie not hesitating to follow behind.

Chapter 9, yay!!! It was crap,I know but. I promise I'm going to put all my effort and knowledge into the future chapters, lol.

I want to apologize for the lack of Cameron and Samantha scenes rn. I understand that she's been with everyone but Cameron in the story but that's Just temporary.

I'm going to start working on chapter 10 today, hopefully going to double update.
