The Business...

I

Two Years Later...

It was dusk in Manhattan, the sun barely peeking over the water. The light was dim, leaving just enough to see the committee in which Aaron is doing business. The only other light was coming from the windows that overlooked the city. The silence was unnerving, you could hear everyone's breathing if you listened hard enough.

"We are profoundly sorry, Mr. Hotchner, it was only possible to regain only ten percent of your family's assets." The man in a navy blue suit states, sitting on the opposite side of the large round table.

Aaron's bodyguards surround the table, keeping a three foot distance. Rossi sat to his left, as Jareau, his assistant, sat to his right. Morgan stood directly behind him. Aaron didn't speak a word, his fingers grasping onto the crystal glass of bourbon.

While his posture was laid back and calm, his mind was filled aflame. He didn't like what he heard, and Aaron always gets his way. This was his life now, and he'd be damned to take no for an answer. He had every right to all of the assets, which enraged him more.

He remembered what his Father taught him when dealing with business; know who you're dealing with. "In the future, we recommend a more evolved plan of action." The man states again, trying to cut the silence.

"You recommend? This arrangement was in high regard by you." Aaron states, his words ice cold. He tapped the table with the tips of his fingers. "I expect a refund and seven percent interest."

The man in blue was appalled by his words, quick to defend himself. "I'm sorry Sir, that's not possible."

The rest of the committee is shocked, as they try to hide their emotions. With meetings like this, the large committee provokes the one or two people on the other end of the deal, usually. However, this wasn't a usual meeting. They didn't know just who they were dealing with.

Aaron sat there, trying to reduce his anger before letting his words spew out of his mouth. "Refund and fifteen percent interest." He says, making sure to enunciate his words. Aaron was going to get what he wanted, no matter the cost.

The bodyguards that surrounded the table step forward, instantly putting the committee on edge. They were scared and couldn't help but show it. Aaron's lip involuntarily curled upward slightly, as he knows exactly what is about to go down.

"This meeting is over." The man in the blue suit says, as he's the leader of the committee. He's enraged by Aaron's demeanor. "Mr. Hotchner, this is New York City, not wherever you're from."

As he goes to stand up, Aaron smirks a devilish grin. The committee around the table on edge, seeing how much the minuscule action changed his attitude. He looks toward Rossi as he pulls out a file from his genuine leather briefcase.

"Trust... it's all trust that my family has given you." Aaron says, as he stands walking around the table putting a single piece of paper down in front of the man in the blue suit.

"What's this?" He asks, not understanding. Aaron lets out a small laugh, knowing how small minded this type of business people really are.

"Here, you have this game; Cat and Mouse. Where the Cat wants the Mouse, but the Mouse is smart. So the Cat has to come up with a plan to lure the Mouse in, in order for the Cat to get the Mouse. Hypothetically, let's say you are the Cat and I'm the mouse." Aaron starts, handing a file to one of the members of the team directly.
