Wings Of Fire Brothers Tragedy

~Chapter 2~

The sound of an albatrosses screech awoke the whole house with groans from drowsy dragons, and a small chirp from a dragonet. Serpentine stretched his talons and rolled off the bed breaking his fall on the sleeping beauty who was just awoken by an taunting piece of flying feathered meat below him. This sleeping beauty was known as puffin.

"Oops er.. apologies."

Serpentine rolled to the side off of the dragon below him, puffin continued to stretch a bit dumping water on his face and turned to the cheeky snake dragon beside him. "Oh its fine..! You didn't mean any harm.." he smiled and wondered out of the room, Serpentine followed behind like a lost sea guppy.

Aurora sat at the table with subzero enjoying some freshly caught salmon aurora had killed herself. Two other plates were at the table and aurora motioned for the two to come and enjoy breakfast. Puffin sat down first serpentine after, the two seemed to almost gulp the salmon down instantly. Aurora was a bit impressed but its not surprising the two would be really hungry after what they had to go through yesterday.

Puffin gathered his armor pulling it on and grabbed his spear, serpentine snagged the finished scroll with all the information on it. They seemed to be in a better mood now, after eating breakfast.

Serpentine waved a goodbye to his mother as he wondered out the door Puffin by his side. After a while the two had reached the Palace, slowing their pace and walking calmly.

As they reached the throne room the two bowed down to queen jade, she then signaled for the two to sit up. Serpentine sitting neatly and puffin imitating beside him. The snake like figure presented the scroll to queen jade and she quickly snatched the scroll out of his talons her eyes moving swiftly across it as if her life depended on whatever was written within this scroll.

"Good this is all useful towards our plan.." she commended serpentine for the information. "What plan..?" He choked, but luckily the queen hadn't heard it. "You may leave now... and you guard boy.." she pointed a Talon to puffin. He gulped and looked up at the queen nervously. "You are relived of duty for today, I see the way you look at him seems you've found a new friend... good maybe it will make you less anxious half the time and more serious about your job.. for today you can have a break, to do whatever you please.. Good day.." The queen finished and Puffin sighed out of relief, he thought that something bad was about to happen but  it didn't and that relieved him..

They made their way out of the Palace and serpentine began to speak as they walked. "So where do you want to go now..?" He asked and puffin turned to the dragon beside him responding sheepishly "Well anywhere you would like to go today would be fine..?"

"What about breeze cliffs?" He suggested referring to the cliffs near the skywing and seawing territories border. Puffin smiled and nodded "that would be lovely.."

After a long flight the two hung out at breeze cliffs a cold wind passing by every now and them even the water seemed freezing cold around here. 'Not as cold as the water around the icewing kingdom' puffin thought, but they weren't near the icewing kingdom..

Serpentine had wondered off for a bit coming back with a little axolotl handing it to puffin, he had a smile on his face and puffin thanked him, as the guard took the little guy into his hands it felt kind of like coral, but it kind of squishy it like a regular axolotl but with some kind of coral like texture. "Made the little guy for you out of coral, it's enchanted to be able to breath in both water and on land. "  he finished and puffin seemed to be happy about the axolotl. Serpentine also handed puffin a necklace with a seashell on it.

Puffin slipped it around his neck opening his snout "Wow you really must like making gifts.. heh heh.. I'm gonna name the little guy serpe after you serpentine!" The snake like dragon giggled a bit.

The two had spent the rest of the day sitting and looking at the sky a couple dragons flying past but none stopping to say hello. They watched the sunset together and as serpentine felt something heavy lean against the side of his body he noticed puffin had fallen asleep beside him watching the sunset, serpentine wrapped his wing around him and fell asleep himself as the sun finished setting.

Aurora had looked around for serpentine worrying her icy head off, but when she found him asleep on breeze cliffs with puffin she sighed and smiled, somehow managing to pick up an axolotl and two slumbering dragons to carry them back home, deciding to place them in a similar position to the one they had fell asleep in on the carpet of serpentines room, instead of just placing them in the beds.. aurora also placed the axolotl in a small tank where serpentine himself used to have a pet axolotl that had sadly died.. She was a very strong icewing for her size and she proved that when she carried two sleeping dragons and an axolotl all the way home without waking them..

The icewing mother walked into the kitchen and began washing some objects, and putting them away. A small dragonet peaked his head around the corner as she worked.As Aurora finished putting up the last of it she turned to see a little head peaking around the corner curiously. She picked up the dragonet in her talons nuzzling him and giving subzero a hug. "You know.. you remind me of your father with your curiousity.." subzero kept a smile as she carried him off to his room and placed him in his bed.

Aurora picked up a book off of a small shelf and sat down next to her dragonet
beginning to read a story to him called 'the little minnow and the quick shark' and when the dragonet began to sleep quietly Aurora herself walked into her chilly room to sleep.

Little did the icewing princess aurora know, When she had taken serpe the axolotl ,puffin ,and serpentine home an icewing was watching. That icewing was sent to scope out the area and unluckily to Aurora it had seen her.. This would not be good news at all for the seawings unless the scroll said something about this, as serpentine seemed to not have checked over it when he turned it into the queen.
