Beep.... Beep....Beep
Before it gets the chance to beep once more, I smashed my hand down on the alarm clock to shut it off.

I rub the sleep from my eyes and check the time. It is currently 6:30 am, and my flight to New York takes off at 10 am sharp. That leaves me with about 4 hours to get ready. I crawl to the edge of my bed to slide on my bunny slippers. I then rush to the bathroom to shower, brush my teeth, fix my hair and get dressed.

When I finally came out of the bathroom, satisfied with, my look it was now 7:40. I chose to put on an oversized hoodie, joggers, and gym shoes.  My mom told me that airplanes are usually cold, so I took her advice and dressed for the occasion.

"Honey, are you up?" my mom yells, bringing me out of my thoughts.

"Yeah, mom. I'll be down in a minute." I shout back.

" Okay, join us when you can." and by us, she meant her and dad. I look forward to breakfast with the two love birds every day. Yet, they create an unrealistic idea of love for me. It's rare now and days.

Eventually, I made my way downstairs, Coming to see, my best friend Mia, my little brother Max, and of course, my lovely mom and dad.

Max is the youngest in the family.  There's my older brother Elijah, who isn't around very much, me who's going off to college, and then Max. He has been acting distant lately, and I'm not sure if it's because I'm leaving or something else.

After walking around the table to hug everyone, I found my seat, and we began talking.

" So, will you guys be staying in the same housing space?" my dad asked while sipping his coffee and looking at his computer.

"Actually, yes, we are." mia replied quickly "The apartment has two bedrooms, and it's close to campus." she finished.

He looked up with a face of disapproval.

My dad wanted us to live in dorms, but we had other plans. There isn't much privacy and most likely, we would have been separated.

"It's a very spacious, and friendly building, only a 10-minute walk to campus, and we have our own privacy, dad." I stepped in.

"Cut them, some slack sweety, they are adults now, and can make decisions of their own." my mom says, placing her hand on his arm. "I understand that, but-" he starts "No buts Ben" she then interrupted. "Okay"

"We got this dad," I said while stuffing my face with pancakes. "You have been oddly quiet, today Max. What's wrong?" we each looked his way, waiting on an answer.

"I don't have anything to say" max replied annoyed. "Okay" I shrugged.

I wonder what's his problem

Everyone then started to finish up eating, and having such a great time going down memory lane that, we forgot about time.

"Oh my God! What time is it?" Mia said with worry in her voice. I checked the time frantically. "It's 8:30" and we haven't even put our luggage into the car, yet. "It's about an hour's drive to the airport, so we have to get going now." dad said sternly.

Max, Mia, and I placed all the luggage, into the trunk with caution. Mom was sitting in the car, and dad was locking up the house. Everyone eventually made it to the car and we were on our way.

Thank God we made it to the airport a little early, so we had time to say proper goodbyes

Thank God we made it to the airport a little early, so we had time to say proper goodbyes.

"Makes sure to call as soon as you land, " Mom said as she embraced us with a warm hug. "If you don't, so help me I will catch the next flight to New York." we all laughed, even though we knew he would do it. " I'm going to call, I promise." and now leaves max.

"How you holding up bud, " I say to him. " I just don't wanna be alone Isa, who will I talk to?" his reply hurt my heart. " You're not alone Max, I'm just a phone call away. Whenever you need to talk." I say.

" I know, I'm going to miss you short stuff. Thanks for everything" he said with a smile and then I pulled him into a sisterly hug.

"Okay, Isa let's go before we get left" and with that, we headed to our gate.
