Nas Pov: It was a hot sunny day in mid June of 1994. I was smoking on a blunt on one of the benches in queens bridge projects. Then out of nowhere a kid with overalls came running towards me and sat on the bench while giggling trying to hide on me. "Wassup kid" I say smiling "JALYLYN!" I hear someone yell from behind me. I turned around. A beautiful girl that looked no older than 17 approached me. She wore brown shorts a black tank top and her hair slicked up with a basket of laundry in her hand.
I snapped out of my daze. "I am so sorry sir" she says "Ay it's no worry" I say smiling she tries to grab the kid but she holds into me. "Your kid?" I ask "nah it's my sisters kid but I always have to watch her" she says and I nod. Jaylyn gave up and let her grab her. As she was about to walk off I asked "what's your name?" "Val" she says smiling "you?" She asked "nas" I say and she nods walking off. I smiled as she walked off. Then someone slapped me on the neck.
"How come you don't look at me like that!" My girlfriend Tessa says. I shrug walking off. "And where you going?" She asks in a attitude. "Don't worry bout it, I'll see you tonight" I say rolling my eyes. Tessa has cheated on me multiple times but I've stayed with her because I always give her multiple chances.
3:00am: I came back from tessas place after giving her what she wanted. I walked to my project and I was about to unlock the door I saw that same damn kid run towards me. I smiled bending down to pick her up. "You needa stop doing this" I say smiling and I kiss her on the cheek. I saw the door down the hall that was open. I went over there "this your place" I ask and she nods. I quietly walked in and closed the door. I got on the couch with her to make she would fall asleep so she wouldn't follow me back. Unfortunately I fell asleep too.
Vals POV: I woke up peacefully. No kid to disrupt me. Then I checked right next to me. My eyes widened as jaylyn wasn't right next to me asleep. I immediately got up worried and ran out of my room in my sweatpants and black baggy shirt. I got to my living room as I say jaylyn peacefully asleep right on top of that boy from the park. He was laying down asleep still with baggy jeans, baggy blue shirt, jeans and a bandanna with a chain. He was cuddling her like jaylyn was a stuffed animal. I smiled softly. This boy was so cute. I've seen him around here he was always having rap battles and all that. He had a raspy voice and a charm that just made him so attractive.
Then jaylyn woke up "Val!" She says sitting up and nas was quickly to wake. He saw me and his eyes widened "I'm so sorry I didn't even mean to fall asleep here jaylyn was walking around here at 3am and I bought her back" "it's aight as long as you bought her trouble making ass back here" I say picking up jaylyn "go get ready" I tell her and I go back to the living as he was about to leave. "You don't want coffee or tea or water or nothing?"I ask "I'll have water" he says
Nas POV: I asked for water just so I could have more time with her. I sat down with one of the chairs she had as she served me water. I knew if I had to make a move quickly before I left. "You single?" I ask as she smiled wiping the table off in the kitchen "yes nas, what about you?" with no hesitation I said "i ain't seeing nobody" I say and she nods "so let me take you out tonight I know this real good place" I say smiling "okay" she says "aight it's a date I'll pick you up at 8" I say and walk out.
8:00pm: I went back to her place and knocked on the door with a bouquet of flowers in my hand. She opened it as she wore a light pink dress her hair natural. I uncontrollably bit my lip smiling. I just had a good feeling about this night. "You look beautiful Val" I say handing her the flowers she smiles putting them on the table. "Let's go I got a car ya know what I'm saying " I say smiling.
2 hours later: "You ain't never lied cus that's one of my favorite rappers too!" Val says "you can't be for real! He's my favorite" I say smiling. This has to be one of my favorite nights ever. Val and I had so much in common and she was so fun to be around. We talked for hours at the restaurant where we sat at a dimmed booth that was lit by a candle. The restaurant was closing and I drove her home. This is my favorite part of a date.
The part where you take her home and have that "I had a goodnight" conversation. "So...you gonna let me see you again?"I ask grabbing her hand as we were right outside her door. "Aight"she says as I pull her closer by her arm. She stumbles close to me as I looked down at her her lips and placed my hands on her hips. She smiled a little as she placed her hand on my chest as I leaned in.
"NASSIR JONES" I shut my eyes looking down knowing exactly who it was. I heard her steps as she was coming to approach us. "who's that?" Val asked. "Tessa." I say sighing "NAS I SAW WHAT THE FUCK YOU WAS DOIN WITH THAT BITCH" she yells. "Get the fuck outta my face hoe you done cheated on me multiple times. I've been done with you. I don't even like you anymore, but now I've found better" I say. "Fine. We're done? You better not call me at 12am when you wanna fuck cus I'm not in inviting you over" she says and I shrug. "Wasnt planing on it" I say and she walks off.
Val was leaning against the wall sad. "So you was in a relationship?" She asks "it ain't like that you saw I just left her. I only like you. She's just a bad person-" "you like me?" She asks and I shrug "I thought you knew? I just left someone for you. It's obvious" I say smiling "now let me go back to where I was at " as I bring her towards me. I put my hand on her cheek as I pulled her in as I got close "it's okay?" I ask and she connects her lips with mine. She pulled away. "That wasn't enough" I say as I kiss her again as she started smiling. "Aight aight" she says pulling away "Ay I'll call you tomorrow" I say and she nods, "and tell jaylyn I said thank you. If it wasn't for her I wouldn't have met my future girlfriend" I say as she laughs "okay I will, night nas" she says as she's about to close the door. "Goodnight" I say and the door closed.
