Backstory: Scarlett lived with her mother most of her life in Los Angeles. Her father died in an accident before she was born. When she was five her mother started dating a Warlock who Scarlett quickly accepted as her father. She never lived at the LA Institute, but before the age of 18 she did study there. After her 18th birthday she became a part of the Los Angeles Conclave, but she still lives with her mother and step-father. Though it isn't unusual for her to stay at the Institute from time to time, typically after a late night patrol.
