"You heard that too, right?" Pandora asked Joseph. His jaw was dropped.
"Yeah, they're gonna try attacking again," Just came out of the mouths of two children. Two children who couldn't have known anything without hearing it from someone older than them. Those were the words they needed not to hear.
"They're just kids," Joseph said very slowly, "They probably know nothing." Joseph's knuckles were white from gripping the desk. The words that fell from his lips didn't match his actions.
Pandora replied, '"Well, they must've heard it from somewhere, there's always some truth to every rumor."
"Don't say that," Joseph mumbled in response. "Because then it sounds correct."
The last thing the Fluntwhill society needed was another battle. They were still trying to deal with the deceased from the last attack. It was a perfect time for them to attack again. The Fluntwhill society was weak for the time being.
Right now, Lugborn was just a bunch of lambs, the Occidensors were packs of wolves ready to pounce. If they chose this moment to pounce, every lamb would die. The lambs don't know how to save themselves from the wolves. The wolves would eat the lambs.
"We should ask the society," Pandora said. Wait-
"You're not in the society."
Pandora forgot about that, "Well, you are."
"The last thing we need to do is cause panic," Joseph replied. He was brushing off something that could potentially be very serious. It was annoying. He was scared of the outcome.
If they were to tell everyone, the school would explode into a panic. The little kids wouldn't know how to react, no one would know how to defend themselves, it would be pure chaos.
"The last thing we need is to be unprepared when they launch another surprise attack. You saw how the ball went, it was a disaster," Pandora replied, getting up and out of her seat. Yes, she could be acting a little over-dramatic, but the feeling in the pit of her stomach said otherwise. The same feeling she had before the ball.
"Where are you going?" Joseph sighed, turning in his chair so he could still face her. "You're not going to Fluntwhill are you?"
"Yes I am," She said still walking, "Are you coming or not?"
"We only overheard a couple of CHILDREN, It's more than likely nothing, Pandora," Joseph said. That wasn't changing her mind one bit. All she did was glare back and wait for him to get up and follow her out the library doors.
"Are you coming or not," Pandora growled. Joseph sat up from his chair and followed behind Pandora. "Last time I had a bad feeling about something, I was correct."
"Dumb luck," Joseph said, speed walking to catch up with her. Joseph was a complete idiot, and he knew it too.
"Luck?" Pandora mocked. There was nothing lucky about it. People died, and she had to watch. People died, and Fluntwhill took no precautions to stop it from happening. People died, and this time, she was going to help prevent it. "What about that was luck?"
"I didn't mean it like that-," Joseph said as they were almost halfway down the hall now. His instant regret was what kept her from lecturing him on his complete and utterly idiotic mind.
In the middle of the hall, looking guilty, was Erryn. Her eyes lit up when she saw Joseph and Pandora. Pandora merely gave a bored expression back. She was still a little annoyed from earlier.
