"Mama! Papa! Where are you?!"three year old Alex was running around the streets of New York in the search of his parents. Humans were on the hunt for mutants but that did not stop Alex. His parents have been gone for hours and he had to find them.
He ran into a ally, hoping his parents would be there and they were but...not in the way he had hoped. His eyes widened as tears began to fall. Two humans were holding guns and grinning at his now dead parents that were laying on the ground.
"What kind of mutant do ya think it is?" One of them asked the other.
"Who cares? Do you have any idea how much money we can make for killing this monster and the girl who was trying to protect it?"
At the word 'monster' Alex wanted to scream and tell them that they are the ones who are monsters but then his father's voice rang in his ear, reminding him of the lesson he told him.
"Listen, Son. If you ever come across a human, you run. You do anything you can to avoid getting killed!"
Alex took one last look at his dead parents before he ran away. He wasn't sure how far he ran or where he was but he didn't care. He hid behind a dumpster, curled himself in a ball, and started crying.
Alex cried and cried until he had fallen asleep. This night, he will never forget this night, for it will be his earliest memory, the memory that will leave a forever scar that may never heal.
Four Years Later
Alex bolted awake with sweat running down his face. 'What happened? Where am I?' He wondered. Then he heard the sound of snoring and looked beside him. Three hybrid snake girls were sleeping next to him, as he stared that's when it all came back to him.
He sighed. "Right, I forgot." He mumbled to himself.
As he looked around he wondered what time it was, it was hard to tell from the sewers then he noticed the clock on the wall, it was 12:00Pm. He sighed, knowing he wouldn't get any sleep even if he tried. He decided to get up and try to look for something to eat. He was starving and it showed.
He went in the kitchen and opened the fridge, hoping to find something to eat, it has been a while since he had a real meal. He was shocked to find that it was FULL of food and some of it even looked edible.
He was so used to eating rotten old food that he couldn't even imagine something like this. It may seem stupid to be excided about for some people but to him it was like a dream he never thought could come to life. He stared in awes as he reached for the juicy red apple but stopped when the kitchen lights went on. He jumped and slammed the fridge shut.
"Couldn't sleep?"
He turned around to see Miwa standing by the entrance wearing a grey crop top and grey pajama pants. She smirked at him. "So, what are you up to? You look guilty of something."
Alex glared a little at her. He wasn't sure if he was allowed to eat their food but he honestly couldn't care less about their rules. He was just worried about what punishment he might get now that he has been caught. There were times where he would try to steal food from people or other mutants but each time he got caught. They would either try to kill him or beat him up and throw him away like some piece of trash.
"I was just looking around." He said smoothly. He did not show any sign of fear yet...Miwa could see right through him. She smiled and decided to mess with him a bit.
"Why were you looking around?" She asked, though she already knew.
"Because I thought I heard something and I wanted to know what it was." Alex lied.
