THE NEWEST TEAM member looked like she was going to throw up. And quite honestly, she felt like she was going to.

Addie was unsure whether her sudden overwhelming nausea was due to the jet that was currently taking off, or the severity of her first case with the BAU.

Planes had never been high on Addie's list of comfortability, but she supposed she would have to get used to them sooner or later.

"Nervous flier?"

The blonde agent turned to look behind her where Dr. Spencer Reid stood. He held two cups of coffee in hand. Upon noticing Addie looking at the cups, he gave her a small smile. "Uh, here." he said, extending the cup toward her. "I know you didn't get to drink the one you made back at Quantico, so I just thought that I would make one for you. Sorry if it's not sweet enough--or too sweet, I--"

Adeline stopped his rambling as she took the warm mug into her hands. "Thank you, Spencer." She breathed with a grateful smile. "Maybe this will calm me down."

He cracked a smile as he sat across from her, taking a sip of his own coffee. "I think coffee might actually have the opposite effect."

She waved him off dismissively, giving him a quick wink as she brought the mug to her lips. "Oh, well. At least it'll keep me awake."

Reid couldn't wipe the smile off of his face as he watched her. "So, you don't like planes?"

He did his best to keep his words steady. He could not make it obvious that he liked this girl. Spencer Reid was all about getting the job done, and crushing on his newest coworker was not something he wanted to get himself into.

"Not really. I didn't really travel much as a kid. I guess I just haven't gotten use to them yet is all." She shrugged.

"Did you know air travel is actually the safest method? Not only that, but airplane accidents have a 95.7% survivability rate." Reid declared in his best attempt to curb Adeline's fears.

Addie paused for a moment, looking at him with a quirked brow. "So what you're saying is that I should be more afraid to drive in a car?"

"Essentially, yes."

"Well...thanks for that, I guess." Adeline breathed before gingerly glancing around briefly. "But I think my nerves actually have more to do with first day jitters."

Only minutes ago, the team had done a deeper debriefing of their newest case--Addie's first.

Five shooting in two weeks. Carried out in midday at various locations across New York. The case had come directly through Agent Hotchner--something that Addie had already deduced as not a good sign.

She hadn't expected her first case to be 'easy' per-se. Was there really such thing as an easy case, anyway? Addie didn't think so. But she also didn't think her first case would be so heavy.
