The Description goes like this....

It's about a police officer or detective and he sees this kid being a con artist, bumping into people and dropping his burger, and acting as if they were at fault.
Anyway the police officer ends up arresting this kid because he catches him stealing.
The cop is told that the he actually arrested an infamous thief in that town or city.
I think that they called the thief a blue devil or something, it was something about him being a devil.

Anyways, this officer who i think is named Jake?(Not really sure) lets him go and they cross paths later again. When said thief is involved in another incident with saving a woman from being mugged or something.
And this officer takes a liking to him and offers to drive him home.
But when he sees that this thief is pretty much homeless and living in an abandoned place, he pretends he needs to take the thief to his house for witness protection.

This officer has a dog that the thief is scared of but eventually they become best friends.

More drama with the officer's ex girlfriend and his homophobic father, and the thief leaves the officer after a misunderstanding.

The officer's ex-girlfriend provokes the thief out of jealousy and the thief punches her, and later the officer says some nasty things about the thief on the phone with his ex but we later learn that he said those things because he didn't want his ex to go to his father and tell him that he's gay
