Beryllium [vxbts]

CHAPTER ONE

"I have decided. You can't make me change my mind, Kim Taehyung." A gruff voice echoed through the crystal wall of the throne hall inside the waterworld castle. His 12 sons were surprised to see him enraged and the fact that it was directed towards his youngest, who also happens to be his most favored child.

"Father, you are going to take innocent lives more than of those who were guilty. Please, give them a chance, I can go talk to them."

Taehyung's half and stepbrothers have concern written all over their faces upon hearing their youngest, but also slightly proud at the brave act.

"You are not going near them! Do you hear me?" His father yells infuriated, Taehyung could feel the pressure in his chest as he shut his eyes closed, feeling smaller than he actually is. He's not used to being yell at especially from his father.

Getting no response in return, the King huffed an angry sigh. "Bring him to his chambers and never let him leave, not without my permission!" He ordered his sons and Baekhyun initiates to grab the smaller's arm and drag him out of the hall.

"What were you thinking?" He hissed quietly, looking very disappointed. "Are you trying to get yourself in trouble? If one of us did that we wouldn't be alive by now. Taehyung you are favored but please don't take that for granted. Father's patience can only last for long." Baekhyun whispers with concern and yet in a stern voice as he continue to drag his brother to his chamber. "Don't ever do that again, Tae. You scared us."

"Hyung, I need to save them. Please, you need to help me go to the surface."

Upon entering his room, Baekhyun peek and look around making sure noone heard them before closing the door and forced his brother to sit on his bed. "Do you even hear yourself? Let them die Taehyung. For hell should give we give concern if It will benefit us. Without them on the land we can own it and freely roam there without the fear of getting killed."

Taehyung glared at him and harshly pull his hand from the older, leaving the bed with a small glare peeking under his long lashes. "You talk high when you're closely akin to think as them. You're willing to take innocent lives for your own selfish fucking pleasure."

"That's how a leader is supposed to think, Taehyung. You need to think of the safety of your own kind first and foremost."

"Bullshit."

Baekhyun suddenly stood up and towers over his little brother, looking down with narrowed eyes. Taehyung whimpers, clearly not used to his brother act of dominance over him but he's still not willing to back down.

"I'm going wether you help me or not. Noone can stop me, it's either you help me or watch me go." He could only mumble in a hurt voice.

Baekhyun stood speechless for a minute as he stare down on his brother's determined gaze.

"You're going to get yourself killed." His voice was now a tone of concern, anger is no longer evident. "Alright then, if you really want to try and save them. I'm going, you stay here."

"No!" Taehyung almost screams in protest. "You said so yourself. Father will kill you the moment he knew. You need to stay here and try to delay whatever he plans."

"You need to trust me." Taehyung says when he notice Baekhyun having a hard time finding the right words to say in protest and instead, he hugged his older brother for reassurance.

"You're crazy." Baekhyun hugs him back, pressing him firmly against his chest, making Taehyung smile a little. "Ok, i will let you go but under one condition."

"Anything."

"Bring the Blackpink with you."

"Hyung, no." Taehyung pull out of the hug and look at his brother in concern, eyes wide with it's natural spark filled with innocence "You'll be needing them here in case of an attack."

"You're more important. Only this way I'll be eased knowing you are safe up there with them."

Taehyung almost got teary eyed. It only just then that the decision out of impulse had sinked in and that he's in fact willing to leave his brothers and the safety of the waterworld castle for the sake of all the creatures on land. He felt sad but he had to do it or his conscience might be the one to destroy him otherwise.

"Okay. I'll be back before you know it. Thank you." He says firmly.
