Not Just Into You

Prologue

Gaano karaming hayop ang kailangan maisakripisyo para sa katangahan - walang katuturang pangarap ng mga tao?

"--- so doctors, who will be participating?" Tanong ni Hudas na mukhang money, ang isa sa mga major shareholders ng Animal Medics.

"I'd like to have some time to discuss this matter with all the veterinarians, sir Jude." I said with an office smile. Huminga siya nang malamim tsaka tumingin sa akin nang may ngiti. Ano? Fight me? Gurang na 'to!

"Well, I think it's fine since we haven't even submitted the research proposal." Segunda ni Ms. Catherine, isa pang shareholder. Ngumiti siya sa akin at tinanguan ko naman siya bilang pasasalamat.

"Alright, but may I ask why, Doc. Arkhi." Tanong ni Hudas at tinignan ko siya.

"Simply because I'm against the proposal, sir Jude." kalmado kong sagot and Ta-da Their eyes are at me again.

"I am against the proposed method, to be specific. But, since I can objectvely see that aside from the profit, you're after, it actually may be beneficial to humanity. I'll sign my name and even participate in the project IF majority of the vets would agree and push through with the submission of the research." Segunda ko sa sarili ko nang walang nagreact.

Tumango and ilan. "Well then, let's call it a day. We'll call for another meeting after a week." Mr. Wright concluded. Si mr. Wright ang president ng Animal Medics Organization, and he's my godfather. 

Hindi naman nakaligtas sa judger kong mga mata ang pasimpleng masamng tingin ni Hudas sa akin. nakipagkamay ako sa ibang head veterinarians ng ibang branches.

"A hard head you got there, Dominnie." siyempre

"Uncle, you look young today." biro ko naman at ginulo niya lang ang buhok ko.

"Join me for lunch?"

"Nope. I have a patient to check." tanggi ko nang may ngiti tsaka humalik sa kaniyang pisngi bago nauna nang lumabas sa board room.

Mag-isa ko sa elevator nang tumigil it sa 16th floor at nakita ko and nakangiting impakto.

He whistled, "Hello there pretty lady. Party tonight?" Alexander offered his fist

"Depends" I bumped his fist with mine

"Please? Be my date. I can't let that Kane see that I'm alone." 

"Awww. My best friend's lonely." I joked and he scowled at me, "Dude, ask one of your women, that wouldn't be difficult. Be my date, yeah right. You'll ditch me again!"

"You just complimented my good looks." He winked at me, and I gave him a disgusted look. He clutched his chest as if he was hurt and I laughed.

"Well, they'll cling onto me for a relationship and I can't give them my youth. I'm-"

"-still young and fresh, and just so freaking hot and sexy that bla bla bla" pagtatapos ko sa kakornihan niya at lumabas na tsaka tinungo ang sasakyan ko my baby.

"Arkhi, I'll call you. Take care my very good best friend!" Sigaw niya sa akin, and I just waved my hand as an answer and started my car.

Pagkapark ko sa harap ng clinic, nakita ko nang may gulo sa loob, and so I rushed inside. Nagtatali ako ng buhok habang papasok sa may emergency room tsaka nagsatitize ng kamay at nag-gloves. "Jake? Where's Doc. Grace?"

"Thank God! Oh, she's operating Max the sheperd yesterday. This is Choco, a Saint-Bernard/Grate Dane, hit by a car, broken left ankle, and leg bone on the hind. I just gave her a dose to sleep and numb her pain."
