3. Charm

I opened my mouth but no words came out. I was too stunned by what I'd just witnessed. I studied Luke's hand. Not a scratch. A little on the pale side, and still outstretched, waiting for me to accept his gesture. I quickly shook his bony hand, soon noticing that it was abnormally cold. Glancing up at his coincidentally pale face, I got lost in his sea blue eyes, that happened to be staring back down at me. Realising I still hadn't answered his question, I shakily stated,

"Farren."

"That's a beautiful name." He said, flashing a smile that could make anyone weak at the knees. I watched his lips as he spoke, exposing his lip ring.

It was becoming awkward, so I attempted to pull my hand away from his, causing his grip on me to tighten.

"I've got my eye on you, Farren" he almost whispered, winking at me mysteriously.

The main light of the house abruptly switched on, causing Luke to wince. He hastily let go of my hand and dashed into the other room.

And that was it.

My encounter with the village 'badboy'.

Amber would love this.

I set out to find her, guessing she'd be on the 'dancefloor', wasted.

And sure enough she was. I found her wildly dancing on the table, grasping a scarily large bottle of idontevenknow.

"Amber!" I yelled up to her.

"Farren!" She half slurred, half yelled. "Come join me!"

"We going home" I said sternly.

"But I'm having fuunn" she pouted like a child.

"We're leaving, now" I walked over in an attempt to carry her off the table.

I hauled her off the mahogany, her legs dangling by my side.

"You're such a spoilsport Darren" she murmured, looking like she was about to fall asleep.

Ignored her last comment and carried her to her car. I her in the backseat and drove.

I couldn't stop replaying Luke's words in my head.

"I've got my eyes on you, Farren."

And how he winced and hurried away when the light came on, what was all that about?

And his freezing cold hands... something about him was eerie.
