Alyssa POV
The first week at this new place had gone by and the time had ran away. Literally, I hated myself for even saying and admitting this but I kind of really liked this place. The beaches, the weather, the people.. it was something completely different and it was refreshing.
"Lyssssss, do you wanna come to the beach with me?" Carly jumped into my bed and she landed on my stomach. I let out a growl.
"First off woman, you are extremely annoying when you do that and second off all I'm so tired," I turned around and planted my face into the pillow.
"Comeeee ONnnnn! Maybe we can make some friends," she made a point but again I didn't really like socializing.
"Fine Carly but we are not bringing anymore of those cheetos," Carly rolled her eyes.
"Who cares about that stupid boy. If I see him I'll gladly throw a fist in his face," I couldn't avoid laughing at what she said. She wasn't completely wrong. I couldn't hide that I actually liked the cheetos, but I'd rather die than tell him that I had been eating them nonstop this whole week.
"Fine, we will bring them only to show the world that I don't give a fuck about a stupid boy," it's a crime to lie like that.
Carly's father drove us to the beach. I looked over at Carly after we had left the car and she squinted as she was searching the beach for a comfortable place.
We found a place in the sand near the water. The beach was crowded with people and birds. Children were playing near the water and their parents were watching them from a distance.
"So Lyss, are you excited about school?" I turned around so I could face her.
"I mean yeah but also no," she nodded as if she agreed.
"I totally understand what you're saying. I'm kind of excited to start at a new school and actually experiencing school over here,"
I had to say that I did understand and I had to agree with her. I had seen so many movies about high schools in America. I wanted to experience it myself and I was going to. However it was the last year for me so I wouldn't be able to say that I experienced the full version.
"Yeah and doing sports!" I don't know why I said that.
"Oh you like sports?"
"I played handball for many years but had to quit because of all the injuries,"
"Oh that's very nice, I never really did any sports. I kinda wanna avoid-"
Carly got cut off and she stares at something. "What's wrong?" I asked.
She nodded towards something and it was behind me. I rolled over and there he was. When I say you know exactly who I'm talking about, you know. It was the only guy that I had seen since I moved beside my new "step dad".
"Hey kitten," my heart skipped a beat. Not because I was nervous but because I felt bothered by it. I didn't like that he was calling me kitten or even looking at me. How dare he.
"Are you just gonna lay there and admire my perfect self or are you gonna make me throw something at you again?" I automatically stood up, looked him in the eyes. His brown eyes, and then I turned my back to him and walked away.
"Hey! Lyss where are you going?!" Yelled Carly.
I ignored it and kept walking until my feet no longer touched sand. I curled my toes once a wave of cold water splashed up my ankles.
"Why you getting so emotional kitten?" I rolled my eyes as just listening to his voice bothered me. "Look no offense but I find it creepy that you're following me," I kicked the next wave and it was satisfying when a huge part of the wave ended up in the strangers face.
I heard a sigh and when I turned around a second later he had disappeared. I had no faith that he would leave but he was gone and once again I was left alone and I did that to myself.
