I sat on the hard brown wooden bleachers waiting for my turn to run against the red team. I was wearing Adidas joggers, a blue short sleeve shirt and black sneakers. It was cold in the gym I had to run in since we had air conditioning. It was like sitting in a cooler with a bunch of ice. That was what I called, "refreshing". I pulled out a blue bandana from
the pants of my pocked cause I didn't want hair in my face while I ran. I tied the bandana to the back of my head. The guys on my team thought I was going to win. All the other girls on the red team thought running was miserable and painful to death. The girls on my team thought running was fun. I also thought that. My named was called out. Alex! The referee yelled out loudly. "Alex you are versing Melissa!" The referee exclaimed. Melissa was a bad runner. I could beat her in the blink of eye. I stepped out on the court and planted my foot firmly on the starting line. The referee said "Your both running two laps." The referee stated. I was ready to run. The whistle blew loudly. WHEWWWW! The whistle blew loudly. I pushed my feet off the gym floor and began to run without stopping for anything. I completed my first lap. Within the bleacher I heard cheering and shouting calling my name to beat Melissa. "Lets go Alex Let's go!" The blue team roared. I was half through the second lap. Until the announcement bell went off and in the middle of running. "BRINGGGG!" The referee yelled as loud as he could to get Melissa and I to stop running. He even got the audience to stop cheering. I tried to plant my feet on the ground but instead tripped over and fell to the ground. I feel to the ground like sky diving. The announcement said, "Alex please report to the front desk immediately." I got up. I pushed open the gym doors and went to the front office as fast as I can. My left shoe came off from the harsh fall. I didn't bother to stop and put it on. I got to the front desk. I saw two boys standing at the desk. One of the boys pointed out something on my knee. "Hey your knee is bleeding." the boy said. The boy had nice brown hair, a blue bandana, a black shirt and jeans. He picked up from the brown hard chair and asked "Hey where's the bathroom?" The boy questioned. The lady sitting at the desk pretended to care. She gasped and saw me. "Oh Alexandra what happened!" She was confused and pretended to worry. "Here come with me to help." The boy refused to let me go with her. "I will not let her go with you." She gasped in shock. "Excuse me young man!" She tried to fight with the boy. "I'm adopting her!" He replied in anger. Some more boys came in. I was guessing they where the boy's friends. The boy spotted the bathroom on the first floor. "Jack come with me!" Jack was fairly tall and hair black hair, a navy blue shirt and jeans. He ran as fast as he could up the stairs. He kicked open the bathroom door. He placed me on Jack's hands. I looked up. Jack looked at me. He said, "Hey don't worry you'll be just fine. Taylor is trying to stop the bleeding. Hey what's your name?" The first thing I did was reply to Jack's question. I stumbled on my words. "I'm - I - I'm Alexandra." "Just stay calm Alexandra. My name is Jack Gilinsky. That boy that is trying to help you his name is Taylor Caniff." He explained. Taylor found a white bath towel and wrapped it around my knee. "Okay Jack lets go back down." Taylor responded. At this point I was in excruciating pain from the bleeding. My entire leg was dripping blood. But the bleeding stopped. We walked back down the stairs. "So we're adopting this little girl miss." Cameron said. The woman was angry at this point. "Your not adopting her come back later." Cameron replied back, "Let us adopt her or this is going to court." The woman handed the papers to Cameron and began to fill them out. "Hey your getting adopted get your stuff." The woman snapped at me. "Cameron I'll take her to get her stuff." Cameron looked up. "Okay Jack." Cameron winked and smiled at me. Jack asked me, "Alex where is your room?" Jack asked me. I replied, "second floor number one." We got to the second floor. My door of my room was open. Jack opened the door. I got my black backpack and opened the back pocket. And began to stuff my clothes in my backpack. It was not a lot to pack up. Jack sat on my bed. "Hey Alex!" Jack hollered. "Yeah Jack" I responded. "So I'm really happy to adopt you. You no longer need to stay in this bad place. You'll be with me and the guys." Jack said. "Thanks Jack I want to thank you and the guys." I said to Jack. I finished packing my stuff and zipped up the backpack. I put the backpack on my back and carried my Pennyboard. "Okay Jack I'm ready!" I said in excitement. Taylor came up to my room and came to pick me up. I gave Taylor a huge smile. Taylor smiled back and kissed me on the cheek. "Hey Taylor isn't she cute?" Jack questioned. Taylor replied back to Jack saying, "She Sure is." We walked back down the stairs for the final time. We walked out the doors not even waving goodbye to my friends or that grouchy woman. Besides I hated that place it was like jail but made small memories with a few friends. It was night time already. I was still wearing my running clothes. But my day has been going great so far.
