[3rd person PoV]

"When I was younger, I had a fire type starter pokemon, her name was Nikki. Oh the adventures we used to have together! It was a blast...until one fateful day in September. Nikki and I were saying goodbye to my beloved Cubone. He was buried in Lavender Town, Kanto. Directly at the 2nd tallest floor. While we were there, Nikki and I started to go research, and of course pay our respects. We went to the top floor of the Pokemon Tower and something really bad happened." Grandfather Lucas said as he began to tear up.

"I had a battle with a gruesome, unknown pokemon."

"Grandpa, what was the battle like?" Link asked.

"It was absolutely terrifying. I had never seen a horrible looking pokemon and trainer in my entire life...The trainer's name was...

...Buried Alive. It came out of the ground with it's skin rotting, sharp teeth, red glowing eyes, and blood everywhere. It's pokemon's name was White Hand. It looked pretty gruesome as well. After the strange and terrifying encounter I had, I beat it. Nikki died in my arms on the top floor, shortly after battling. If only that stupid beast didn't use perish song..." Lucas mumbled under his breath.

"Perish song? But that only makes a pokemon faint after 3 moves! Not kill!" Link exclaimed.

"I know. I still don't know how it killed her though. She was so young, probably close to evolving." The old man replied.

Lei began to huff and puff. He was obviously furious at this unknown pokemon and sparks began flying off of his back. "Cynda! Quil Quil!" Lei began to yell.

"Lei! Calm down! It's ok!" Link said as she rubbed her Cyndaquil on the head. Lei had calmed down quickly. Grandfather Lucas began to chuckle and wipe his tears.

"I remember when Nikki used to be like that. I always pray to the pokégod, Arceus, every night. I always ask Arceus if she's doing ok, hoping for an answer."

"Grandfather, I..."

"It's ok. She's doing alright in Heaven."

"I'm going to find this pokemon. I'm going to find Nikki. I promise I'll bring her back and give her a proper burial placement."

"It's been 40 years since the accident, she's probably decomposed by now."

"Well I'll find the bones." Link said, determined. "I promise."

Lucas began to smile.
